Picked up a double 180g. nice.

Picture discs suck. For around the price of these new picture disks, a fan could get MOST of these in descent condition used. Happy for those that are stoked. Classic Maiden is music worth getting stoked about!

So the Killers store says: "The Battle Born Limited Edition Red Vinyl includes an 11 song single disc in a gatefold jacket with custom sleeve and a 24 x 36" poster." They probably mean custom inner sleeve. Like when an LP is advertised as having a "printed inner sleeve." Interpunk is showing on their listing "double 180g vinyl" which i would guess is wrong considering what the official site says. Considering the initial Amazon price and the different prices around the web, it would seem that there was some misinformation. At least one big online vendor doesn't evenhave it up for preorder yet.

Plain and simple: Because they can. Or they think they can. Vinyl is hot right now. Press an exclusive color, say it's limited and make people who want the vinyl pay a lot for it. Californication, Van Halen: $45! Why not? you want the vinyl, pay up! Remember when CDs MSRP was around $20 each? Ugh.

I'll believe this thing when I see it. Hearing it is secondary at this point. As a mass produced item at $150, I just don't think it's possible for it to sound even as good as a Debut III. I could be wrong and I'll gladly say it. Hopefully they'll make an upgraded model for say, $250, and I can trade some sucker for my Classic.

As others have said, the value on this set is great. Both Albums and all the extras for $60. Very cool.

Paper sleeves can scuff your records. Poly sleeves for large collections can really add up $-wise, but they are worth it if you care about your records.

Thanks for any info, Travis. The last import pressing of this was lackluster and had the same price point. Amazon is also listing Mechanical Animals from Universal UK as well. Any info on that or a US press would be welcome.

Once I understood that swirl is NOT marble (DUH!). I thought the black would be best. A black and red marble would have looked killer.

Calm down. There is a ton of interest in this and everyone is trying to jump on it. I'm sure everyone will be able to get one. I wouldn't be surprised if they press more if there is a need.

For some reason I was thinking it would be marble. But, yeah, it never said marble, so... Is the Dine Alone a canadian exclusive? I mean will orders placed via Dine Alone for the black be sent from Canada so US buyers will pay Canadian shipping?

The Shure is a great cartridge, but it also requires the larger counterweight on the DebitIII. I seem to remember the OM5e being a lot cheaper a year ago. Around $35. But as anyone who's used one knows, It's cost is enormous in the the damage it can do to your listening experience and records. The Shure is just that price on Amazon. There was a while there that the cartridge went for very cheap.
