  1. Sort of relevant anecdote: I took a music appreciation class in college that was mostly classical. But one class the older teacher wanted to show relevance by examining some contemporary music. So we spent an hour listening to Lit, a CD he "pretty much burned a whole through last summer". I'll never get that hour back. Poor guy, he was so earnest about it.
  2. Dude, you need to cut yourself some slack! Don't burden yourself with what may be unrealistic expectations. Your doing something healthy, if you miss a day, just keep moving. Dwelling in the negative is just going to kill your motivation.
  3. So this guy makes and arrow to the knee joke and doesn't catch a ration of shit?! I kid, I kid.... I'm speculating that this scenario isn't so cut and dry. Given that hardware manufacturers rely on royalties and software sales for a healthy profit I understand why they would want to make developers happy. I could see them tying games to a specific account for access to all the content. Once that game gets played on another account it may require a fee to unlock all (or online) content, very similar to Online Pass. Used gamers could purchase that content for a nominal fee, thus adding a revenue stream that doesn't currently exist in the used game market. I doubt that it would put a hard stop on using any used game on a console outright. I understand how this effects people negatively, but also see a potential upside. Games costs are high due to effort to bring a game to market, costs could potentially go down if developers made more per game. Not to mention potentially ancillary benefits, like more dedicated servers, if developers have more cash. TL;DR: There is probably more to the story, and it might not be a wholly negative scenario. Developers and manufacturers ain't idiots.
  4. I don't necessarily think they were speaking chronologically. The prison could run a few seasons if they pace it correctly. You could be right, but I read that being a general tightening of the show.
  5. Thanks. I'll be there Saturday for a buying trip so I'll inquire in person. Oh the damn stupid things I'll do for records.
  6. "The reissue will be available exclusively in record stores across Canada, though a select number will also be available for purchase on Last Gang’s website." Looks like Canada only and a few online. I'll be trying through the website but if any Canadians want to help a brother out I'd pay a little extra cash! EDIT: It occurred to me I could wake up real early and go to Montreal. Any ideas about participating stores, I can't find shit in general, let alon this release.
  7. Thanks guys, I'll check these place out. Appreciate the input.
  8. Congrats man! Wish our tastes in vinyl was a little more similar so I could give you money.
  9. Was just about to post this. So now the fees are about even. I still see Discogs as being able to offer better service since it is a provider for a niche market and thus, able to tailor its offerings to the market specifically. But, the big plus just isn't quite there. Dang start-ups trying to monetize!
  10. The Kills - Blood Pressures (Green Vinyl /1000) - Sealed Red Fang - Murder the Mountains (Orange /254) - VG+ / NM Seam splits on inner picture sleeve from shipping. Baroness - Blue Record (Seafoam /1000 / OP) - VG / VG+ (NM?) $25
  11. Headed North of the Border to MTL on Saturday. Looking for opinions on the best shop, specifically for punk / metal / rock from this decade or the last. Mostly buying current vinyl these days so great selections from the 60s / 70s / 80s aren't high on my list. Vegan restaurant recommendations ares cool too! Thanks guys.
  12. Indeed. Probably the same people who want to buy the same record 9 times. You've obviously never huffed shit whilst listening to your Brand New variant collection. It's magic.
  13. Dang. I wanted one. Anyone get an extra? I thought the season opener was decent, but not fantastic. They covered a lot of ground, but if they set up any long term arcs they didn't seem too interesting to me. Seems like this season is gearing up to address race and the generational divide. EDIT: Those are separate thoughts, the latter could certainly be interesting. Any guesses on how, if, when the Lane thing plays out? That was the thread I found the most interesting, maybe because it was the most unique.
  14. There is no current reliable way to get NFL games streaming, outside of Sunday Ticket with PS3, and that ain't cheap. It does however, give you a decent excuse to daydrink at a bar every Sunday, if that is your thing. Television shows are easier but coverage is spotty. Hulu+ has a decent amount, Netflix has a few, and a decent back catalogue. iTunes is a possibility as well, but depending on your watching habits you could easily exceed your cable bill. Industry wide things are making progress but it still just isn't that easy or economical. All the proprietary bullshit making exclusive content acquisitions makes it a headache for the consumer. If you don't watch a lot of series than torrents work, gets to be a pain otherwise.
  15. It can't be that hard to cheaply replicate the shake at home. Are the nutrition facts anywhere? Find those and grab Mick and Mimi's ultimate party machine. You're in business.
  16. I read the title of this thread as today was the anniversary of the date when you contracted or were diagnosed with herpes. Glad it was a much more normal and celebratory occasion. Enjoy!
  17. I've been thinking about trying this as well after I finish a detox program I am on. Can't handle a workout of this measure given my current caloric intake. Question for those who have tried the program. Is their any value, or is it even possible, to use it as a supplemental workout. I could never commit to 60 days in a row since I have soccer to or three times a week and wouldn't want a second session at this intensity. If is too hard of a workout if your only using it every 4 or 5 days. I'm fine with limited results, but not fine is never getting a handle on the difficulty.
  18. That's a pretty deep set-up Dave, sounds like fun. selfreliable, what team are you in the Paper Legends?
  19. The channel may play a role, but it isn't the problem. Prices stay high because of demand, regardless of where they are sold. A lot of this logic doesn't apply to auctions anyway. And the Discogs user experience (selling) is just way too clumsy for most users. I appreciate the sentiment and totally agree, but the answer is less limited variants, not Discogs.
  20. It doesn't have any effect on search rankings. The general idea is that the number of likes increases your audience size, thus increasing your social "reach". It's really not a good metric. The general problem with incentivizing people to "Like" is that it skews your metrics. Of say, 10,000 likes, if 7,500 did it for information, or worse, free shit, you don't really know who many people are actively engaged with you. In this case, there isn't really a downside. It's less of an issue for smaller brands operating in passion segments (i.e. record labels). Sorry to derail the thread, and get all corpo in this bitch.
  21. I guess I should have waited. Maybe I wouldn't have had to pay for a 3-D gimmick to get the vinyl. Maybe man. But since it is a Volta double LP I'm not sure they would go much lower than $25.99 anyway. Maybe $19 or $20 but I doubt it, I don't think the 3D influences price. It's just printed artwork, same price as any printed artwork.
  22. When are crickets the loudest? Thats what time it is. I swear that shit was out of control. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that a show that forces characters to make stupid, implausible decisions on a regular basis probably isn't focusing on accurate wildlife. Or maybe they are, and losing site of the big picture?
  23. Yes. I assumed they were the same one, thus the flashback angle.
  24. yeah that really confused me too. i understand it was to show us how a herd can start and get bigger and go for days but really how long is it going to be until the two parties meet? couple weeks? so now we have a copter just flying around. i think maybe the copter is the governors and they were making a run for food or people or something, i don't know. plus if this copter has been flying around don't you think that rick and everyone else would of heard it? How far outside of Atlanta were they. I took it as a mechanism to create the herd (and a nod to a plot point later) but I always just assumed it took the zombies days. if not weeks, to herd up and get to the farm. I thought they were flashing back.
