It's always been an empathy argument between Shane and Rick and he needs to move further down the spectrum to set up what I presume will be his death in the season finale. Dale seems a more likely candidate to kill him so far since Carl isn't much of a character at this point and Dale doing it would set them up for all kinds of Andrea / Dale conflict, as well as change Dales character significantly. If Carl starts getting a lot more screen time, well, I think we know why. I hope it ain't Dale, the Andrea and Dale scenes have been to most wooden, painfully acted ones of the series. If we can avoid more of them I'd be happy.

amc made you watch almost 40 minutes of that stupid comic book men show before they showed the one minute scene from next week's episode. Now THAT's a show with no likable characters.

Probably this. I'm of the opinion that it's a pretty good plan and damn near everyone involved knows it. It may take a minute to get worked out, but it's coming.

I'm sure no one would argue about the unnecessary plot points. For my money the entire series has been based around creating artificial conflicts and scenarios to fill episodes without really committing to anything. Follow up question if you will. I could see how being a major fan of the comic you would be irritated by lack of continuity. But from the outside looking in, it seems like an interesting opportunity to re-experience the story in a new light or setting, which could be a coo. If the TV series was executed better, but still very differently from the comics, would comic readers be happy? In other words, if it were a better show, would the faithfulness to the original material matter that much?

Over Seattle? Obviously it's a passionate fan base but wasn't everyone nervous about the Jets? I wouldn't be surprised if they give that market another year or two and see what happens before they jump to QC. When the new conference format kicks in isn't there talk of expanding teams? Speaking of nervousness and Jets, my not-hot-at-all Bruins will be there tonight. It's anyone's game I suppose.

Not sure how many non-Sox fans care but Tim Wakefield announced his retirement today. Obviously it was coming soon, and it's the right move, but that guy always seemed to be a solid fella. The knuckleballer joined Walter Johnson as the only two pitchers in American League history with at least four wins and 125 or more innings in 17 consecutive seasons.

I've always sort of pictured you as Adam West. A man dedicated to righting wrongs, but in a real convoluted, roundabout yet entertaining way.

Question for you comic readers. I know the show has been taking some liberties, but does it seem like most of the MAJOR comic points are hit or touched on in the show. Has it been a good indicator of what might happen long term, even if they deviate short term? Most of the spoilers for the comics haven't seemed to apply too much to the show so I haven't been stressing them.

This will work if the image itself is transparent. Otherwise you have to isolate from the original background (even if white) to get a transparency. Via Channels is the most accurate method, but depending on the image you can try the magic wand. Or the pen tool.

I thought last nights episode was pretty good, certainly better than watching the Grammys. I'm glad to see them introduce new characters, especially if they ain't going to leave the damn farm. I read an interesting interview (below) with the current show-runner who essentially said that the first half was Frank Darabont's vision the next 6 episodes are more his and will feel little different. Maybe he is passing the buck but it seems like they are aware of the criticism. Seeing as how they are taking liberties with the comics, Which major character is going to die over the next 5 episodes? I don't think it's indicative of the whole album, but it's the first material released by the band to a rabid fanbase. Of course it's going to shape expectations. When has the Internet ever reacted calmly or rationally to anything?

This and i can't wait! I'm feeling the exact opposite. That clip has set my expectations and excitement back a fair bit. Am I alone on this one?

I was only able to watch the 1st and part of the 2nd due to a soccer game. Sabres pretty much embarrassed them, Bs looked sluggish and slow up and down all night. Tough night for Tukka and Thomas. Yeesh!
