Flaming Lips Blood Vinyl: 10 Copies, $2500 each
necroscope replied to jhulud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Just to not be a total dick about it, I guess if it draws attention to the charity that's something. Anyway let me know when somebody makes a twinkie filled record and I'll be onboard. -
Flaming Lips Blood Vinyl: 10 Copies, $2500 each
necroscope replied to jhulud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Any of the people who contributed blood to that could easily drop 10X that much money into the charity themselves without blinking. Also just because something is for charity doesn't mean it isn't retarded. Grow up, this is about publicity for them. -

What's next, a Samhain Initium repress filled with Goat Blood and Wolf urine? $10,000 at a store near YOU. -
Yeah anybody who was planning on using Palamino Records Pressing out of Louisville KY this summer, make other plans. They just suspended taking new orders til Fall. They are getting so much business they just can't handle anymore til then. Good for them. I've always had good results from Palamino, nice people and good prices. . Nice to hear they are having a lot of success though.

On one side, I feel really burned out on superhero movies. On the other side, I'm not kidding myself. I know I'll have a total nerdgasm over this.

Do you ever dream of someone repeatedly?
necroscope replied to Daiei's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I get the teeth falling out dream fairly often as well. Also hair falling out. I think it's pretty common. Also to the guy who created the topic...man just be glad you can wake up and be with someone better now. I get dreams like that as well, but when I wake up I'm like wow.. I'm glad I'm out of that. -
Misfits-Walk Among Us LOST Plan 9 version?
necroscope replied to burntwolf's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I wish the real Walk Among Us had been released this way, it's a better collection of songs. The only thing I would really miss not being on there is Hatebreeders. I can live without Mommy and Braineaters. -

I'm old enough that vinyl was still going when I was a kid. I always had a record player and lots of kid's records like Star Wars, Spider-Man, etc...the story telling types. The 1st music record I remember owning was the Another One Bites the Dust single from Queen...I have no idea how or why I had this record. In my teenage years I mainly had cassettes and CDs, they were just easier to get at the time. Messed around a bit with records on and off in my 20s, but had a lot of other stuff going on. 5 years back in my early 30s I got the record bug again, mainly thru playing music and wanting to release stuff that way. Started trading with people and buying a lot again. Having a lot of fun with it, and since I have no real interested in downloads/Ipoops, etc... records are the way to go for me. Helluva lot more fun to play and collect too. -
Custom Screen Printed WOODEN BOXES - $55
necroscope replied to patrickemmons's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
True. Unfortunately I don't have time to learn every single thing on earth though! I've been working on silk screening for awhile trying to get the hang of it... Carpentry isn't really my thing, but it's probably worth a try. -
Damn that is one tiny guitar, it has a toy like appearance almost...nice looking though.

Wind Through the Keyhole (Dark Tower/Stephen King)
necroscope replied to silentgods's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I'll check it out from the library anyway. I felt kind of let down by the last 3 books in the series. Hoping this one will be an improvement. -
Custom Screen Printed WOODEN BOXES - $55
necroscope replied to patrickemmons's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Yeah but I see it more as a custom special kinda thing you'd want for a very small collection of special records that have some sort of connection to each other. It's more of a show piece. They really do look amazing. -
Forbidden Dimension - The Golden Age of Lasers LP.

Official "Help Me Choose a Turntable" v.2.0 Thread
necroscope replied to jhulud's topic in Turntables & Other Audio Equipment
Sorry if this has already been covered, but the thread is fairly long.. I'm looking for a decent portable suitcase record player, just something small. I'm wondering if those Crosley's with the front mounted speakers are any good because I'm really leaning towards picking one up. The CR-40 is the one I'm talking about. Any info would be appreciated. Specifically, I don't need it to rattle the windows, but can it get a decent volume going? And does it have an automatic cut-off when it gets near the center? I've got 5"s I want to play and I hate those. -

how often does this really happen??
necroscope replied to melvinscam's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
How often does it happen?? Uh, sometimes.. Really not sure what the issue here is. I mean if you're really into the band and a completist pick it up. If not, just ignore it, or get the extra stuff online if you can. It's all in how interested in the band you are really. -

Favorite Halloween Records

If you find it please let me know, I've heard the haunted house blues and it's so great. I'd love to know if Bessie Smith has any other horror themed songs out there. -
why do records cost what they do?
necroscope replied to shamrocks's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Shamrocks, as far as incentive to press 100 goes.. Some people are trying to create a collector's item they can cash in on. Other people can only afford to press 100. Or maybe they are just doing it for their own enjoyment. Believe me, there are a lot of people putting out records who are taking a loss and don't give a shit about profit, or are struggling to break even. I have pressed 100 or less many times because it was what I was able to afford or the amount I though I could sell. On why they cost they do, well again some people involved in more popular bands/labels are price gouging and others might have more complex packaging, special colors or etching, etc...you can usually tell what the deal is. Whether you still want to buy or care as to the reasons is up to you. Most people charge reasonable prices, those who don't are the exception not the rule. -

^ Agreed! And your post of the ROTLD soundtrack is a winner, I think that is probably the best collection of horror songs ever put together! Enigma was doing some good work back then! -

Can't beat TSOL's Dance With Me. I have no idea what the original record was like, but I have a cool version with a marbled look that makes the record resemble a tombstone.
