  1. really wish we could find out from someone in the know about the colors of these variants, if they'll all be the same, etc... or at least if amazon UK is selling the same color UK variants that the band's label over there is?? I might just drop the $40 and PO from the UK label bc I am far too nuts about this band right now to risk saving $15 and getting black. haha. #vinylproblems
  2. pretty much obsessed with this band. saw them live last month and they just destroyed it, i was mesmerized. almost traveled to nyc the next day to see them again but santos' sold out before doors. can't wait til they come back in june. band is gonna be huuuuuuge.
  3. so did i miss out on this PO entirely? the link just loops back to this topic now. I can get it thru paper + plastick but was interested in the EU variants. I have been blowing it on POs lately =(
  4. I have a connect who speaks with jake pretty regularly, maybe he can ask. I get the feeling the answer is going to be vague, though - it seems the question is more about the # of slip covers they make, rather than the pressing info of the actual variant that goes in it, since both these tour presses have been scooped up containing different variants by different people... what's stopping them from just screening more covers if and when the "tour press" sells out and just stuffing whatever variant they have for sale at the moment into the sleeve? sort of seems like that is what is happening.
  5. pretty sure i have an extra copy of chase this light i'd be willing to part with for whatever is reasonable to someone who wants it. shoot me a PM
  6. sounds like someone just volunteered to help a few people with their gd collections
  7. sorta looks the same in these pics but i've seen the lighter variant in person, this is def darker. here's another pic... imgur is lightening them up i think, it looks darker on my phone
  8. ordered both of these when pink resurfaced online, but it's darker, like a magenta now, rather than the lighter marbled pink people were getting before. seems suspect of a repress to me.
  9. stupidly missed this post back in march and now all that's available is the deep purple, which i just know is gonna end up looking like black. some of the variants mentioned sounded really cool, i'm bummed. anyone think they might break up the 4xLP bundle as release date approaches to sell more of those variants that sold out? I see that bundle is still listed so they must still have those variants... also what were the actual 4? i don't see a list anywhere.
  10. snagged the tour press of this yesterday at mixtape. seemed like they had plenty. don't know if it's been covered yet or not (sort of lost track of this thread) but both my buddy and I got the new clear/red splatter variant. Also snagged a copy of The American Scene tour press, mine was on maroon (was really hoping for the clear w/blue splatter but glad I was able to get one, regardless). Was there any final pressing info for either of these tour presses? I could've sworn it was stated at one point that both were sold out, but these were both pretty readily available last night - I saw TONS of kids with the TSSF tour LP in their hands by the end of the night
  11. got there as finch was taking the stage. plus the merch area at Irving is a goddamn mob scene the entire show anyway, zero interest in dealing with that. couldn't even see the tables.
  12. saw the 10 year show last night at irving, fucking amazing, etc. so after leaving coat check my friend swears he saw kids with copies of this on vinyl in their hands walking out, but we couldn't get past security to go back to check the merch table. anyone know the deal? yes i realize this is supposed to be HT exclusive but we have eyes that saw the things. wonder if the band did a separate pressing? or maybe HT busted them off some quantity to sell on the tour? pretty pissed we missed out on grabbing em, but curious what anyone's maybe heard...
  13. i'd say they'd be crazy not to have this for sale at the NYC reunion show next week but then again I guess the timing doesn't really work since that's in like 4 days. anyone been to any of the CA dates or Chicago last night? the setlist posted on AP from the pomona shows fucking rules. cannot be more excited.
  14. Also, i will have an extra watermelon splatter as well and I'd love the tour sleeve variant if anyone is interested in that trade and missed out on the watermelon one. def lemme know. i'm seeing them april 6th at mixtape festival but who knows if the tour press will still be around by then.
  15. agreed. bands will take just as much shit for reinventing themselves with each album as they do if they stay the same. The "natural" progression people seek from their bands is different for each person. Music is art, art is subjective. Can't please all the people all the time.
  16. there's something weird about this band, at least for me, and i've been trying to put my finger on it since I first heard them, prob the year USAD came out. i now LOVE USAD but it took me quite a while to warm up to it back then. and I've had the same experience with this new one - first listen and I didn't really find much, i've actually listened to it on repeat all day today and i'm now starting to "get it" i'd say. I didn't love "right here" on first few listens, either (although "the glass" instantly stuck for whatever reason). so I think it's because his vocals are way less about musicality and melody as they are about being percussive and biting rhythmically as well as lyrically, as well as fitting into the grooves or pockets of with the music, if that makes sense. i think the music is very well-arranged for a pop punk band. their drummer for one is a beast, esp on this album. the vocals are pretty limited in range but it's his style and it works well. just means it's hard to find the hooks the first few go-arounds, i think. this is all of course just my opinion, but i had been trying to figure out why it would take me several listens to get into a collection of songs that i eventually end up being WAY into, and that's what i've come up with so far. anyone else find that this band writes songs that take a while to click? or do you guys just instantly dig it? (not talking to the people who think they suck but are still for some reason trolling this post).
