  1. My grey copy from the pre-order is horribly noisy, like very badly noisey even after cleaning well multiple times. But damn this album is beautiful. Your Pain is Mine Now...
  2. Damn, vying for a blue/black. Wish that shirt had a smaller print though, like the same image but as a pocket print or something. Not huge on giant solid-colored prints.
  3. So stoked on this. Ordered from Amazon.uk just to be damn sure there's one with my name on it, comes to 25.97 USD with standard US shipping option. Will cancel and switch to Earache if that ends up being cheaper.
  4. Wait, where does the '13' in 'BC13' come from? How does thirteen fit into Brokencyde?
  5. I could care less about the represses as most of the albums are abundantly found used for cheap. However, the 5.1 Blu-Ray releases excite me very much. The 2112 and Moving Pictures 5.1 mixes rule, so I can't wait to hear these ones.
  6. Does anyone know if KingsRoadMerch will cancel pre-orders later upon request? Definitely want a color pressing of this in case the future ones are just black, but if they do a record release pressing like last time, I'll certainly be at any release show and would rather grab it direct from the band...
  7. Had to read back through the text carefully after seeing the shirt to convince myself this wasn't a joke. How uncreatively hilarious.
  8. Would probably pay up to 40 each for Clarity and Futures. Stoked to hear this is actually happening! (That being said, hope these are closer to 20)
  9. One of those came with my turntable and it works fantastically. Not sure if it really makes a huge difference, but I like the peace of mind that records will always be held firmly.
  10. How do you like it? I've been planning on building my own off the open source schematics but haven't yet committed...
  11. Sweet! I debated long and hard between the 1.5s and the 2.5s due to the number of people talking about the "special something" that the 1.5s have. But in the end I decided that the 70% of my records that are loud rock begged for the bass extension that the 2.5s give. God I hate special orders. I'm sitting here listening to Warpaint and just thinking about how much better they would sound on the Veneres. I WANT MY SPEAKERS ALREADY!
  12. Man I've kept the PO page on constant refresh since it went up and of course it goes up during one of my busiest days at work. Will be keeping up the constant refresh through the night though just in case there's a 3rd round... Either way though, super super stoked to hear this album, simply the most fun band active right now!
  13. Marantz SR6008 for an amp, and I've currently got a pair of Polk RTi-A7's, but any day now I'll be the proud owner of Sonus Faber Venere 2.5's.I think once those speakers arrive, I'll be sticking with this setup for quite a while. Can't wait!
  14. This guy arrived today: Very very very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended turntable (it's a Marantz TT-15S1 if anyone's wondering). Now I'm just waiting on my new towers...
  15. Absolutely incredible album and awesome packaging. Love this band And anyone on the fence about the packaging's "safety" should be rest assured that this thing is very well sealed. I'm honestly surprised by the weight of it everytime I pick it up.
  16. Yeah that's what I was thinking it probably was, but even if I leave the record out to dry for generous amounts of time (10+ minutes), I still get the noise. After reading all the good stuff about it here, I think I'll give that EV-1 a try...
  17. Looking for a bit of help. Right now I'm using a Spin Clean for my records (simply following the recommended directions, nothing special). It seems like the first time I play through a record after using it, the record is extremely pop-y and loud (even brand new records getting their first play). But then the second time through, it's very clean. Even if I play a song or part the first time, then lift the needle and replay that part a second time immediatly, it's very very noticeably less-noisy the second time through. It almost seems as if the needle is cleaning something left behind by the Spin-Clean in the grooves the first time through, allowing a nice second play. I'm perfectly happy with the "second-plays", so what exactly might be causing this? Any suggestions?
  18. What's that turntable? I love how the chrome all matches up with your setup. Looks great.
  19. Man I am so excited for this release. Holding off on streaming as hard as it is, but I'll pick this up downtown on release day.
  20. As has been mentioned, I would stick with what you have right now for a bit until you've got somewhere around $500 or so to spend on a good set of bookshelves and an integrated amp. Speakers are definitely going to make the biggest difference in any setup. You've already got a nice turntable, and for the record the debut carbon is better than the debut iii, so I'm not sure why you'd be looking at one of those. Just wait it out a bit and your ears will thank you in the end!
  21. Is that awesome haze green/clear variant picture above the one listed as "Clear green vinyl limited to 1000 copies." on Southern Lord?
  22. Been waiting on this release, don't know how I didn't notice it go up. Ordered a red, but if anyone's got a green/purple they want to sell or trade, I'm your man!
  23. Did a good deal of upgrading over the past 2 months or so. Will be upgrading to a Marantz TT-15S1 within the month, but for now, here's my simple but very effective setup: -Polk RTI A7s -Marantz SR6008 -Pro-Ject Debut Carbon -Standard Sony 5-disc CD Changer -1TB Hard-Drive for all the 1s & 0s -V-Moda M-100 headphones for late-night listening -Audioquest Golden Gate interconnects all around
  24. When I was 4 or 5 years old, I heard Welcome to Paradise on the radio (99.9 the Buzz!) and thought it was the coolest thing. Asked my dad for a blank cassette and would sit in my room waiting for another Green Day song to come on, ready to press record on my boombox. Eventually I saved up enough allowance money, had my dad bring me to the nearest Best Buy, and bought Dookie, "the one with Welcome to Paradise on it". Listened to that CD so many times. Then one day mom mother decided she wanted to check out what this new CD was that I was listening to so much, she listened and read the lyrics and threw the CD out because it "wasn't appropriate for me". So the next time my dad brought me to Best Buy, he bought me another copy and said to not tell mom what it was. All in all, first album I ever purchased with my own money and was able to call my own. Still have that original CD (well, the second one), plus two other copies (one with Ernie, one without) since it got scratched up bad from use and a cassette because I wanted to listen to it in the car (but not when mom was along for the ride of course).
