  1. 34 bucks just seems like so much for a record, even if it is a new Deafheaven LP... I forget, does KRM charge after you order or after it's shipped?
  2. Got my copy today and wow, I did not expect to like this record as much as I do. With the exception of a few cheesy parts (that damn 'exterminate the brutes' thing is still dumb), I absolutely love it. It's certainly no Shape of Punk..., but it drew me in much in the same way that record does. Also one of the best sounding records I've heard in a while. Both the mixing and the pressing were fantastically well done (I've got the black/gold EU variant). Certain parts just sound absolutely massive. I will say there are a few riffs and drum parts that seem copied and pasted right from Shape of Punk, but not in such a way that it takes away from the full piece of work. Overall, positively surprised and stoked on this.
  3. Surprise tour presses are the best kind of tour presses. Here's mine:
  4. Absolutely love this, as with everything they've put out. My only small complaint is the short pause halfway through the song during the part where it slows down to just the drum down-beat. Why break up such a good long-song with silence like that? It bugs me everytime. The feel of the second half is so beautiful though.
  5. Is it a tour press? Got that variant too but I figured it was just the blue/silver variant that was available for pre order.
  6. I keep hearing wonders about the LS50s, but I tried them once at a shop in Cambridge, MA and was less than impressed. Maybe it was the content or room. I'll have to give em another shot next time I get the chance.
  7. Grabbed this at the Boston show a few weeks back. Sounds fantastic and I love the booklet. Seriously one of the greatest records of all time, still guts me as much as it did in high school.
  8. The Marantz TT15S is right in that range (a little below if you can find a good deal). I've had mine for just over a year and have no complaints, absolutely love it.
  9. Yes! Hullabaloo is by far my favorite live recording in general. You get this feeling throughout the show that Matthew is some mad scientist musician or something (the hair helps), and every single moment is just perfect. I'm still as much in awe by that performance as I was when I first saw it.
  10. Speaking as someone who regards Muse's first 4 full-lengths as 4 of the greatest records of all time (as well as some awesome EP material) and who at least enjoyed their last two records, I find Drones to be pretty terrible. There were only a few moments where I was momentarily drawn to a riff or something, but was always turned off by some cheesy sample or synth clip seconds later. It really feels like they don't care anymore, which really sucks. Oh well, I'll just go watch Hullabaloo for the millionth time.
  11. Where can I get a cheap one-off shirt printed? Haven't been into any of the ones posted, but I want this:
  12. I've never felt the need to buy multiple copies of a record until this came out. I'm still confused by it. Is this what love feels like?
  13. Does anyone have the bonus track from the iTunes preorder, The Hide? If so, you'd be my favorite person forever if you could send me the .mp3 of it! It hurts to know there's a Ceremony song out there that I haven't heard...
  14. Anyone have a copy of this on pink or green or the A Floral Note 7" that they're looking to let go? If so, let me know! Just realizing how killer this band is and would love to get my hands on these.
  15. So I'm just realizing how incredible this band is and missed out the 'A Floral Note' 7" as well as the limited pink or green pressing of New Young Gods. I'd love to get my hands on these, so if you've got one to let go, let me know!
  16. Got this today (fastest I've ever seen media mail go). Album rips and this packaging rules. Very heavy prints, Sub Pop doesn't mess around! Stoked to see these guys a few more times in the coming months.
  17. While on the topic of TSOPTC pressings: If anyone here has a good surround sound system (at least 4 channel), do yourself a favor and get TSOPTC on DVD-A in 5.1 surround. One of the most incredible things I've ever heard, it honestly feels like a whole new album. Not sure who re-mastered it for surround, but they nailed it. The mix perfectly encloses you within the music and there are legitimately parts that startle me from the realness of the instrument placement.
  18. For me it will always be Supertramp - Crime of the Century, specifically the first track, School. Hearing my father play me that crazy loud on his old Polk speakers when I was younger was the first time I remember noticing the difference between just enjoying music and being sucked into a record on a deeper level. I still get chills everytime I hear the opening echoing harmonica loud on a good system. Everything about that song is just so perfect.
  19. Sold my grey copy, bought in black. No more noise, I am now a very happy man.
  20. Daaaamn. I'd love to go Peachtree someday, their product design is so top notch. I also used to do home theater sales and their reps were always the nicest guys.
  21. What a fantastic album. My copy has seen so many plays... Coolest packaging too. If you don't already have this, GET IN ON IT!
  22. My god, METZ and FIDLAR in one room on one night. So stoked for this.
