  1. I just saw the first two Chicago LPs from elusive disc for $35 bucks each. What a deal...
  2. Seminal: Can-Tago Mago Can-Ege Bamyasi Neu!-s/t I also like: Harmonia-Musik Von Harmonia and Kraftwerk-The Man Machine You could also check out the band Amon Duul, but I haven't really been into the stuff I've heard, or Faust, but I haven't heard them at all. Hope that helps! I don't know a whole lot about this genre, I think I just exhausted my knowledge of it in this post.
  3. Damn, there are so many good swedish bands. Metal-wise, I'm into: At the Gates Grotesque Anatta Spawn of Possession Bathory defleshed desultory Unleashed Dissection Punk/hardcore: Skitsystem Mob 47 Shitlickers Anti Cimex Stoner/rock: Witchcraft Graveyard Remuda Dust Dollhouse other stuff: Little Dragon Mount Everest Trio (great 70s jazz that I can't find a physical copy of anywhere)
  4. The first LP "How To Clean Everything" is still a classic, but all of their stuff is awesome. How about Neurosis and Red Sparrowes? For Neurosis, start with Through Silver in Blood.
  5. As far as bluesy sabbath type stuff, try: Pentagram (anything? I don't know this band's discography all that well) Witchfinder General-death penalty Sir Lord Baltimore-kingdom come Black Widow-Sacrifice Flower Travellin Band-Satori (You need to check this out, Japanese Sabbath worship from 1971) Blues Creation-Demon and Eleven Children Josefus-Dead Man Trouble-The Skull Rainbow-Rising (The best thing Dio ever did) Randy Holden-Population II More early 80s metal somewhat along the lines of Mercyful Fate: Watchtower-Energetic Disassembly/Control and Resistance Angel Witch-s/t Slayer-Show No Mercy Diamond Head-Lightning to the Nations Exciter-Heavy Metal Maniac And some good early thrash: Sodom-Persecution Mania/Agent Orange Vio-lence-Eternal Nightmare Necronomicon-s/t Celtic Frost-To Mega Therion Death Angel-The Ultra-violence Kreator-Terrible Certainty Flotsam and Jetsam-Doomsday for the Deceiver Athiest-Unquestionable Presence
  6. I've been to this store, I know what you mean. The prices don't make any sense, records from bands like Pink Floyd and the Allman Brothers cost an arm and a leg, regardless of condition, but then they have some rarities and don't even know it. I was lucky and found a copy of this old all African-American Cleveland metal band called Black Death for 5 bucks at this store (it usually goes for several hundred). I didn't see the clerk check prices when I went there, but maybe they have gotten even worse than they were.
  7. I just saw this guy had a couple copies for sale (not cheap): http://www.waykoolrecords.com/index.html Look in his rare records section. He's a good dude though, I've ordered from him before and his records are graded really accurately and he packs well.
  8. Their cover of Skulls by the Misfits is brilliant
  9. Just got mine, I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the cd's or the baseball and magic cards you threw in, thanks!!
  10. What's this like? I have ramblin gamblin man and mongrel which are both awesome, is it in the same vein?
  11. Everyone on this board needs to check out this record. fuckin' awesome.
  12. I just got these in the last month or so: Atrophy-Violent by Nature Coroner-Grin Tapes are shitty, but I grew up with them and I still have a big pile of mixes I used to listen to when I had a car. I still occasionally listen to tapes, they at least sound better than mp3s.
  13. Someone needs to pick up that Massacre LP if you like weird experimental jazz. Its a great price and not that easy to find! (I would but I already have it)
  14. I've got these: Metallica-5.98 ep At the Gates - The Red in the Sky is Ours Unleashed - Across the Open Sea Godflesh - Pure Faith No More-We Care a Lot Emperor/Enslaved-Hordanes Land Send me a pm if you are interested
  15. I co-released the "only normal people..." cdep with world won't listen. It would be great if someone wanted to do this on vinyl, but honestly the cd did not sell very well. I have most of the remaining stock of the cd if anyone is still looking for it.
  16. Totally disagree with this. Most stores have shitloads of classic rock and 80s pop that I hate to wade through if I'm looking for metal or punk. If I'm looking for jazz, I like to browse through jazz, not all kinds of other crap. But, I never go into a record store looking for something specific, it is always to browse, and genres are nice when browsing.
  17. I lurk here: waxidermy.com because getting registered is impossible.
  18. Is that a Karate repress or did you find the old press? Ordered anyways!
  19. Does anyone know what is up with Super Pursuit Mode? Paul (of JBB) sent me a track they recorded and I thought it was all the jbb guys.
