  1. I was disappointed in Valar Morghulis, but I really liked the two before it, so... Also, it's been the only one so far that hasn't really fit its theme. Jealous. I don't have what most people refer to as "self-control." What I do have is a bunch of empty bottles from the previous releases... They look cool though, so that's something.
  2. Holy shit I completely forgot it's only a week holy shit. Yeah, not only are they going to have to start doing things that haven't even happened yet, they're doing character arcs/ plotlines completely differently - . Following the books isn't going to help much longer... we know nothing. On a bit of a side note, is anyone going to be getting the newest Ommegang GOT beer? Comes out today. http://www.ommegang.com/got/three_eyed_raven.php
  3. Pretty sure it's the exact same tracklist of some Nickelodeon compilation album I got from a cereal box or something as a kid. Edit: it's fucking this. The Rocko picture matches. http://www.amazon.com/The-Best-Nickelodeon-Nicktoons-Various/dp/tracks/B0000063EK/ref=dp_tracks_all_1#disc_1 If I would've known as a child, that one day I could own a vinyl record of people covering this, I'd know that everything would be OK.
  4. Can someone please please please find the version that got googlemyass banned. I'll send you candy beans.
  5. They have it streaming right now on Pandora if you're interested. http://pdora.co/1uhb8FI
  6. I got there near the beginning of Saves the Day's set last night, and they were sold out by then.
  7. just to make sure, this is only a single LP, correct? I'd really like to have this, but $25 before shipping seems like a lot, even for 180g.
  8. So I can be better than everyone else.
  9. What ever happened to that big Sum 41 hate thread not too long ago? Now this is selling out in less than a week? VC, you crazy. On a side note, can't wait for the new River City Extension album - when's it dropping, Flood?
  10. So am I the only one left who still isn't pissed off about this whole release?
  11. Jeez. At least they put out some good releases. Not really trying to hate on HT, I've bought a decent amount of records when they have sales and clearances (not to mention they're the closest "record" store to me back home), but all the albums they get "exclusive rights" or whatever to are on Universal; I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem likely that a major label is going to license anything to a little indie label (unless you count MTS, but look how that went...). They're going to license to a big corporation capable of mass distribution with millions (?) of shoppers. David doesn't really stand a chance against Goliath of getting any Thrice album pressed.
  12. Don't know who has seen this, but it was posted on their Fbook a few weeks ago: THE FELIX CULPA - Commitment Vinyl Reissue March 6th, 2012 I know, I know… I have not written on here in some time. Not for lack of content, but mostly just because I’ve been really, REALLY busy. I still love you, blog & blog readers. I do kinda hate this particular blog format. But I digress… Anyway, here’s a quick post about my now-deceased band, The Felix Culpa’s posthumous vinyl reissue of our first full length album, Commitment through Hundo. The original album cover that I designed way back in 2004 was actually one of my first album projects ever, done when I was just considering diving into the freelance music design waters. I thought it would only be fitting/interesting to see what it would look like if I re-imagined it now, after nearly a decade worth of practice and 100’s of projects under my belt. Also, I just really wanted an excuse to do one more big Culpa related piece as a farewell gift… a bit of closure perhaps… for the other guys in the band, our friends & fans and for myself a little bit too. It’s design-therapy, a new field I’m pioneering. So here’s a before and after of the old 2004 Commitment cover followed by the new 2012 one. I was intending the redesign to be a surprise for the people that ordered the album. They’d receive it and open it to find the artwork completely redone, and all go “whoaaa…”, but unfortunately the process of finding the original audio masters and having the vinyl lacquers cut and approved has just taken wayyyy too long so I figured I’d post something to tide everyone over. There's more at http://blog.midwestlove.com/ about re-doing the cover, and the back cover as well. edit: well, shit... that fucker is bigger than I expected. oh well.
  13. Wait, that's not what it's supposed to look like? This doesn't really surprise me. Does anyone really expect a major label to give a shit how a vinyl release of some scene album that came out almost a decade ago turns out? Because I don't.
