  1. Arkells are playing a string of shows in the US over the next week and have copies of their new 7" with them for the tour. If anyone is going to one of the shows and could help a guy out by grabbing an extra copy, it would be greatly appreciated and you will be well compensated June 17 - Philly 18 - Cambridge 19 - NYC 25 - Detroit 26 - Chicago 28 - Cleveland
  2. Got some homemade cards and picture frames from the kids. Had a nice BBQ this afternoon with all the family and my sister gave me tickets to see Russell Peters in the fall. She's a single mom, and I've always done all the "dad" things with her daughter, so she always gets me something. It was a good day!
  3. Dracula: Dead and Loving It? Honestly have no idea, first thing I thought of when I saw mention of vampire comedy.
  4. During a proper album tour cycle Billy Talent play the ACC, which is where they played during their last proper tour for Dead Silence. Playing Sound Academy last year was a one off for the 10th anniversary of their first album. I'm not a huge fan myself ( my 6 year old son is) but I'd have to agree with Scott, I'm not sure what constitutes "massive" but they're one of the few Canadian bands who can still successfully tour arenas across the country.
  5. Saw some of the presale updates last night on the dine alone store site. I won't say what was there but most people should be happy.
  6. I'll keep an eye on eBay, but if someone is able to grab an extra copy of the "marble" tour version at a show, I'm definitely looking for one!!
  7. I was hoping this was going to happen! Thanks for the heads up, you're a saint. Grabbed a copy to keep my Dine Alone 7" collection relatively complete (less a few test pressings). I'm a happy camper
  8. Wade commented that the box included all the songs the band had released. I didn't notice their cover of Sweet Leaf they did for the Trailer Park Boys Soundtrack anywhere in the track listings. Any chance of seeing that released as a 7" or something?

  10. Perhaps I used the term "independent" too loosely. I'm not an industry expert, but I see Dallas owning all his music and licensing it to an independent label (Dine Alone) as being "independent". I think the Universal connection has more to do with them distributing Dine Alone releases, but I could definitely be wrong about that. Regardless I hope some of these pink copies make their way into VC members hands.
  11. Purely speculation, but the Australian tour starts in a week and basically every stop has a JB Hi-Fi retail location. Could the pink exclusive possibly be part of an "in-store appearance" type promotion? Just having a hard time figuring out why a proudly independent artist would team up with a "big box" electronics retailer to distribute a limited press 7" record. Seems like an odd arangement to me.
  12. This is the best news I've heard all day!!! Picked up my package from UPS today. While having to pay extra "brokerage fees" on top of the shipping definitely sucked, finally having a copy of the OC/YC screened jacket made it bearable. Also the Clear&Smoke Furiousity looks awesome and Sleepy Sun 7" appears more green to me than yellow.
  13. Well FML! Got home from work to find a UPS notice on my door. No big deal until I read the bottom which says $19.99 C.O.D. required!! On top of the $60 I already paid for shipping. So now with the currency conversion and shipping my $105US vinyl order is going to cost my $200 Canadian!! Shipping that AOF Boxset should be a real treat
  14. Wow! Placed my order before this thread started and paid for express shipping ($60!!!) Yet my order is still listed as "Shipping Soon". This new webstore doesn't seem very eager to fulfill orders.
  15. If, however improbably, you manage to survive the zombie apocalypse with a veterinarian in tow, who also, however improbably, happens to specialize in farm animals, and you're lucky enough to have set up a subsistence farming operation inside a well secured prison complex, just try to remember to muster the common sense necessary to ask the vet to look at the pigs if they get sick!
  16. Those definitely look like 10" sleeves. Looks like it could be a repress of Covers Part 1 on clear?!?
  17. I agree. I'd like to get a copy of this, but at this point I can't understand why someone would actually pay $100+ for one of these! There's about a dozen of these VIP soundchecks during the tour, probably 40-50 people per soundcheck, so I'd think there's a good 500+ of these pressed. Curious if any will show up in his webstore like the "pre-order exclusive" grey variant.
  18. I'll be on the lookout for one of these also. Got a copy of covers 2 or 3 to barter with.
  19. Check out xbillyx's sale thread. I think I saw The Con in his list. He's great to deal with and awesome with his pricing!
  20. Just received my shipping email. Hopefully there's no colour mix-up like some others have suffered. Now I'm just waiting on shipping news for the new Monster Truck LP and my DA collection will be a little more complete! Most of the gaps have been caused by Dallas (AOF and C&C Variants) but I'm happy with the collection I've managed to put together so far! Justin, any chance black copies of THATH will be available at Edgefest next week?
  21. I think the album was pressed and released by Cooking Vinyl in the UK. I was under the impression that CV made their own plates, so there could be some differences in the sound/quality of the pressing. I can't imagine they would sound identical. On a somewhat related note, the Dallas Green signature Airline Jupiter guitars are on pre-order now. If anyone is interested. http://www.myrareguitars.com/new-airline-jupiter-pro-dallas-green-signtaure-model
  22. Is anyone else still waiting on their RSD Covers 7"? Ordered from Dine Alone and my order has been marked as "awaiting shipment" for the better part of a month!
  23. I agree with this. I would think of this more as smart marketing than a "cash grab". The fact is a huge chunk of the "vinyl resurgence" is a collector based market and anytime something is produce in an "unlimited" quantity you eliminate a massive amount of your potential market. If you are a hardcore fan then you should already have a copy of this, if you're just discovering AM! then it's awesome that it's readily available, and making the pressings different will attract more casual fans that are more interested in the "collectability". Independent labels don't run on huge profit margins, so they do what's necessary to pay the bills, seems reasonable to me. If there's demend for the record keep pressing it! Also if you are buying this after 39 pressings to flip, you are an idiot.
