I am an extremely quiet, calm, and reserved person, but in reality I feel so depressed, inadequate, furious, and worthless every single day of my life since I was at least 8 years old. When I was 18, I got some friends together to start a hardcore band because I needed a release. When we wrote the record, I called it "Confessions" because it was about everything I had never really expressed to anyone in my entire life (including the three different therapists I've been lying to for 5 years). So, through my lyrics about mu depression, hatred for religion, suicidal thoughts and feelings of loneliness, it was sort of a cry for help to all my band mates and close friends. Not one time did any of my friends and band mates, who had all commented on talked to me about how powerful my lyrics, never mentioned the content. I've always been the "go to" friend when any of my friends had a problem. So, the fact that no one even seemed to notice was just a slap in the face to me and has lead to me resenting a lot of the people around me.

All the colors sound very interesting. They said they will be posting pictures, so unless there is something that just seems way too cool to not have, I think I can hold off. Plus the 5th is pay day! -

I've got the Olive/Orange/Gray splatter (/700) if anyone was looking for that. I have an extra unplayed copy I would be willing to sell. -

Added this onto my rather large RevHQ order. Stoked to listen to it! -
https://www.facebook.com/events/468807023203853/ My band is Day Dreamer. I have a small circle of record collecting friends within the area who are all apart of Vinyl Collective. The lack of culture in this area is kind of depressing, so that is why I decided to post here. I don't think a Kenosha thread would live very long.

I agree. I really felt like Jonathan's death was kind of stupid and it really pissed me off. Like, I understand why, but his death could have even been easily avoided without Clark revealing his powers. Also, the last battle with Zod took way too long. I feel like it could have been taken care of in a much better way. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie despite some fight scenes taking too long and the cheesy comic book lines (which I actually really enjoyed). I think I will be going to see it again with my brother tonight.

My bands have played My Wicked Way several times. My hardcore band just had our last show there 1 week ago, today I think. That is in Racine though, the neighboring city. Brat Stop has bands like Sevendust and Hinder and shit all the time. Its only about 10 minutes from my house and I went to the McDonald's next door for some late night munch and I got to listen to Hinder's "Lips of an Angel" while I was eating my Big Mac in my car. Not a fan of that kind of music, but still pretty funny to me. But yeah, venue and record store wise, Kenosha and its surrounding areas besides Milwaukee are dead. That is why my band is having our record release at a house in Milwaukee if anyone is up for going.

Bands you like despite douche members

The first Warped Tour I ever went to, the band I was excited for most was Streetlight Manifesto. Not only was I super excited for my first warped, but my favorite band at the time was playing. Damn, was I disappointed when various members were saying things about specific people while on stage. I get the whole punk rock, yeah fuck you, whatever thing that a lot of bands do, but it was just a little disappointing to hear that coming from a band that I had been looking up to at the time. -

Could be, but I'd also like to have a feel for what it would look like. -
Post Your Record Storage Area

Yeah, they have something like that at the one nearest to me. Ikea isn't really an option because I don't know where the closest one is to me/how expensive it can be. I have a fairly large window in the back of my bedroom and I think I will put something like that in front of it with my table and speakers, knick nacks, etc. I can just bring a record in and place it in there to make sure it all fits. I would also like something to keep my books in as well, considering that my book shelves are starting to cave in and I fear they will break soon. And I have a good portion of my books on my desk already as you can see in the picture. Also need to find a fuckin' spot for those tapes. -
Post Your Record Storage Area

Not nearly as many records as a lot of people on here, WOW! But here is my current situation. As you can see I am running out of room. I have the Smiths box set that I had to place elsewhere to make room for everything. I also have about 20 incoming records, so I need to figure something out quick. I'll probably be going to Office Depot/Max to check out some shelves and doing a lot of room rearranging this weekend. -
RFC PO'S: Koji, Coasta, Captain We're Sinking
captainaldous replied to runforcover's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I had a Foo Fighters record come from Amazon today and there was a corner bend. Not too bad, though. Just wanna say that I just listened to that Coasta album on bandcamp and damn. I ordered that sunburst variant right away. Very happy that it isn't sold out. -
Not from Chicago, specifically. I'm actually from Kenosha, WI, which is only about 90 minutes from Chicago. Consider yourselves lucky to have so many awesome record stores in your area, whether it be Reckless, Permanent, or even a Hot Topic or FYE. The only stores in my area are two used vinyl shops that charge ridiculous prices for beat up, almost useless records. Kinda sucks having to make the trek to Chicago or Milwaukee (which is a little closer) to go to some decent damn record stores!

Very excited about this. Will preorders be live right at midnight or some point in the day?
