I have this CD and I remember regretting spending $10+ on it back in 199? because I didn't think it was very good. Maybe I should dust off my copy and see if I'm missing something?

Posted this in the Linkin Park thread but just wanted to say, I must be lucky and get a distribution hub of Hot Topic where they actually give a shit, because for the most part my records get to me in great condition. This is how my record was packed when I received it today, however I did also get a shirt. It was shuffling in the box that was too big for it, but atleast it was encased in bubble wrap. Needless to say I'm freakin' thankful given the other examples that have been posted. To pay and wait for a package then get it in that condition would be pretty frustrating. And why they wouldn't have a standard of packing vinyl records like mine above at every distribution hub is just stupid.

I got 2 different records and a shirt from HT, and they came in a big box so I was kinda worried they'd be shuffling around getting bent. Luckily, both came individually wrapped in one of these bubble protectors and did not get damaged at all. Why they wouldn't do this for every effing order is beyond me.

This is bullshit and if mine comes in similar condition I'll be asking for a refund.

Would be stoked to get a copy if its worth it to ya. I'll pay more than cost + shipping just to keep my money from the flippers on eBay. For example $35 would be fine with me, and I can pay right away no problem.

Can't believe I keep missing it when it comes available online. Probably one of the hardest HT presses to get my hands on that I've come across in a while.

That's great if you're going to spend $2000 on a TV, but I think what most are discussing in this thread is spending $500-$700 on a TV and $200 on a Blu-Ray/streaming/gaming console that works great. My TV app for Netflix/Hulu does not run nearly as well on my Samsung Smart TV as it does on the PS3, it often has annoying "refreshing" in the middle of episodes or movies, and sometimes it spazzez out and doesn't work for whatever reason. Also the smart TV interfaces I've seen that apparently aren't $2K just seem slow. I'm sure the top priced items work better, but not everyone is looking for a $2k TV. Yeah you gotta turn the PS3 on from the controller while you're sitting on the couch, but to me it seems the wireless stream on smart TVs is not always that great and the PS3 experience is superior.

Typically the HT employees are OK but I did have an issue the last time I dealt with them. Called to ask about a pressing of a new release, he set the phone down and after 5 seconds straight up said "we don't have any" without putting me on hold. Went to the store just to check about an hour later (I had a feeling he didn't even look or know if they had any because he sounded busy over the phone) and Wah-Lah! There were 2 copies in the vinyl section sitting on the lower shelf. I could tell who it was that answered but I didn't feel like calling him on it in the store. Kinda annoying to say the least.

Dude there are people on here who have discussed and done it before, there's even a thread about it somewhere...

Sure, but the red wax version of this record is no doubt warmer sounding than the black.

Not sure what kind of damage it would do to your system, my guess is the worst that could happen is that your needle could get damaged. There are ways to fix records that are warped ala put it in an oven for a couple minutes.

Tried ordering 5 minutes ago, Self Titled Splatter is gone. Hopefully will try to pick up all the copies I can find at Hot Topic and flip them just to piss off all the regular posters on this site who are cruel other members for no reason.
