I'm not sure if it's been discussed before here or not but the album Day by Day by White Flowers is fantastic. Ordered the blue from overseas and finally had a chance to listen to it this last weekend. Highly recommended.
Completely smitten by her vocals. Stepping back there is nothing different or new about the music, but they do seem to have put a lot of time and effort into perfecting each track. I enjoyed reading their backstory and inspiration, and never would have thought the psyche scene of London and then returning to the northern hinterlands of England would have inspired a superethereal dreampop album. Don't know if I will get the vinyl yet, but definitely going to visit this again.
And agreed, that Mondaze wall of noise is pure bliss.

I can see what you mean with the Ranges stuff. I like it because I like the sound. HOWEVER, you guys really ought to visit the new album, Cardinal Winds. I think it's their best, by far. The production and the songwriting, it just works. I really, really like it.
The TNBD album is a grower too; I never have visceral reactions like you guys where I think "omg this sucks" haha. I don't know. I understand the effort put into albums, so I feel like having an emotion like that is... not fair. But that's me. I could never throw shade like that knowing what it takes to put something out.
Gathering Half the Deep by PSOTY? And what's with the PG.Lost reference? I'm a bit lost here haha.
Evan hates everything pg.lost, even Key 😲 and even though every album is different. It’s just a long-standing joke that he will never like any pg.lost. Period. 😂

I’m barely ever here anymore so I’ve missed some discussion but dang am I the only one that absolutely HATED that Tacoma album? One listen through & it sounded more generic than a Ranges album. I was unbelievably disappointed in that. Have had no desire to revisit.
Evan, I would have been totally shocked if you liked the new Tacoma album, that's why I never recommended to you over on IG where we usually share shoegazey stuff.
Tool, Meniscus, Maserati, Isis are not bands I remember you liking or talking up .... and the SMW here and there I think Gumbo and I are hearing would not be enough to pull this record into your orbit.
Re: Ranges, I have tried tried tried too, and love what they are doing at A1KA, but it's all generic to me.
What I really want to do still... is take some tracks like Gathering or Desperdecio Pt 1. and be able to block the artist, have you listen to those riffs, and tell me you don't like them!! haha

Never thought I'd see a LF Gong album here. I have Angel's Egg and Expresso II. You're looking for an 'unofficial' pressing. So they can't be sold on discogs.
You probably will have more luck on Steve Hoffman than here and ebay auto search. Also...
Discogs link - you could try messaging people who have copies to see if they are interested in selling. Good luck!

Let me add to the cart - no preorder

I also wouldn't call any of their records bad. Just a couple that didn't really speak to me.
Once I saw them live, it makes it difficult to listen to the albums. They're one of those bands that the studio just can not capture. Drive 3 to 4 hrs each way every tour. They do not deviate from their set list once determined. I have heard some complaints about this from fans, but they do what they have to in order to make the touring grind work as well as possible. Wrecked trailers, broken thumbs and equipment, you name it.

Yes dude, I caught a Marriages and Russian Circles show in like 2013 where Dave from RC played drums for both bands, it was so cool and a great show. I regularly wear my Marriages tee.
Hot summer day August 2012 for me. Chelsea Wolfe was the opener, stoned, drunk and stage fright, all veiled up. Who'd have thunk she'd blow up. Marriages were great - have seen Greg posting on IG with his gear recently - and probably my favorite Russian Circles tour (Empros) when they first changed from Carpe to 309 as the opener.

Can't believe they're coming to RVA again. Last show I went to before Covid ( 2/2020) was them, Grivo and Twin Drugs.
Go away Covid before April next year. Have Godspeed tickets, too.

New Tacoma Narrows is very solid. Reminds me a lot of the early Pelican LPs.
Tacoma Narrows comes through again! Thanks as I completely missed this Owen.

I have Gumbo ears on the new one: several tracks Isis with Tool (bass especially & time sig changes) also Meniscus (bass lines again) & SMW. They channel lots of my favorite parts of post, prog, instrumental rock.

I guess Matt's been watching Shy, Low longer than any of us, even pre-Shy, Low. I saw them before Binary Opposition when they were still doing some vocals, bassist iirc.
Hiraeth is so good. The bonus track on Binary is a fave too. The Burning Day EP didn't click with me but I haven't given it the 10 listens, so I held off on this preorder with no music. Until today. It's up on brooklyn vegan.
The production (especially drums) was vastly improved as advertised, even through my crappy ear buds, and... I liked the track: reminded me of Palms for some reason.
The video, er um well, I'm sure somebodies will love it - they definitely were swinging for the fence.
Not sure which variant to go with, and a bit butthurt on the $ premium. I guess the COVID's further inflationary pressures to keep our addiction going. Can't wait to hear the rest of it.

Got Cenotes in today and it looks great! Props to TLR for shopping the record outside of the jacket to avoid seam splits. Can’t wait to spin it, it’s such a killer EP!
Mine arrived earlier in the week, and looks / sounds great. TLR went through a rough period a while back about the time Rosetta was winding down their contract with them, but they have really gotten their vinyl game on track, even the proper shipping like you said.

Anyone else miss out on the EP Giants put out last year? I did, and it’s pretty good.
Missed here! I used to message with James (Lyle) quite a bit when he said they were writing the new material. He had an informal 'make an offer' on some test presses to try to raise funds once they were finished. I got his copy S/T TP, but somewhere along the way I think Maciek ended up with it.
And I forgot about the songs ever seeing the light of day.
Do you have a link?

Love Darla, but that price tag is out of character from past re-issues^
New news:
Toronto shoegaze band Iris has changed its name to Bliss Fields and will re-release its ST EP after re-forming in 2017 with all new members save one. ST EP Vinyl and CS on Backpack records long sold out.
Brookly Vegan: Listen to ear bleeding track
FWIW: "Haunt Me" 10 inch with original members is in perpetual rotation at my house

Got my cassettes .....and in b4 lock.....

I hope Caspian and Maserati do their East Coast tour that got cancelled due to the pandemic.
On a different, how about the new Amenra and YONL? I'm only a couple listens into each and feel like they are going to keep getting better with more listens.
