  1. Okay dudes, 2 things. 1st off: I will do ANYTHING for the Hymns album by Teen Suicide. Any amount. Anything. (That's what this is all about.) 2nd off: Someone with Hymns said if I find the Bummer Times tape we can trade. SO I WILL GIVE MY LEFT NUT FOR EITHER. PLEASE I WILL PAY OR GET YOU WHATEVER YOU NEED. THIS ALBUM MEANS THE WORLD TO ME.
  2. so i went to this is hardcore over the weekend and checked out a couple record stores in Philly and came across this one record "Urine in the Water" i dont recall the bands name. would have taken a picture if i had my phone on me. But i was wondering if anyone knows anything about this because it is the same cover of Shark Attack's "blood in the water" only difference is that its yellow not red. was wondering if the was a mock of it or something along those lines.
  3. A nice trip to Goodwill today earned me a tape deck for $4.38. So that's good... A major snag, though; it didn't come with the rest of the power cord needed to plug it into the wall. I also don't know what type of adapter it needs, or what to call the specific "end" that it has. My local RadioShack was of little assistance. The deck is a: Fisher CR-W75H "Studio-Standard". The end looks like this: (Sorry for grainy picture, I don't think I've ever owned a worse camera.) Some help would be greatly appreciated, been trying to get a deck for some time now. Would suck if I can't make this one even turn on.
  4. Posted this same question on reddit, and was told it's an "outgassing" issue. I have Worship and Tribute by Glassjaw on vinyl and it seems the plastic insert has melted onto the vinyl leaving a thin residue that results in thick white noise when I pop it onto my turntable. It is only on the side that the plastic was touching; the side that the paperboard was touching is pristine. Record and sleeve (hard to show in a picture, it looks a little blotchy in areas): http://imgur.com/a/i4GUy Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!
  5. Looking to buy a copy of this vinyl. The type edition does not matter. Just looking to add a great record to my collection. Please help!
  6. Good Morning everyone, I am fairly new to vinyl collecting, so, I'm not fully versed or experienced with buying records online. But recently, I purchased a sealed copy of Motion City Soundtrack's "Commit This To Memory", and while it did arrive sealed in shrink-wrap, when I opened the record to examine it, it seemed used, and damaged. I opened a case with Ebay, but I want to make sure I'm not crazy. Please see pictures below. My question is, is this record used, or is this normal?? PLEASE HELP!! It would be much appreciated I only asked for a partial refund but not the seller is saying I'm trying to scam them. Scratch on the record same scratch, different angle more scratches, signs of use? tears on the sleeve? Thanks so much for looking, I appreciate any help I can get! I just want to know I'm not crazy for complaining
  7. Beginner’s Guide to Hi–Fi Created to hopefully aid anyone venturing into this stressful, beautiful hobby. I will update this with more information whenever I have time to waste. Anyone is welcome to chime in. Basic Hi-Fi Chain: SOURCE -> AMPLIFICATION -> SPEAKERS (click to jump to section) The source component reads the recorded information and translates it into the signal that will be later perceived as sound. Amplification takes that signal and amplifies it (no, really?) in order to make it strong enough to move the drivers of the speaker. A speaker is a collective of drivers that are moved by the signal, producing air pressure in front of them which to us, mortal beings, means hearing sound. When putting together a hi-fi setup, always keep in mind: The end result will only be as good as the weakest link. Buying an expensive turntable and a good phono preamp is useless if you're using cheap computer speakers. By no means should you decide to just get a shitty turntable then. Instead, think carefully how to ration your budget across all important components. Jump to setting up & use: SOURCE, AMPLIFICATION, SPEAKERS LIST OF RECCOMENDED EQUIPMENT FOR DIFFERENT BUDGETS
  8. Hi, I want to buy a record but the store selling it can only ship within Canada so I'd really appreciate if someone can help me. Thanks
  9. Submitting an album because the version I have for sale is not listed on Discogs yet. How do I file the submission under a 'master album'? When I submitted, it created its own master album but I think it should go under the master album along with the other versions.
  10. Hey guys, pretty simple looking for a SMALL pair of floor standing speakers to go with a Cambridge Audio Topaz AM10B amp. I'm pretty set on upgrading to that amp. Now I'm just looking for a good set of speakers to go with it. I would like to stay in the $300-$400 range, and footprint is a big concern for me. I don't have a ton of space but would like to get the full sound of floor stands rather than a set of bookshelf speakers. That being said if someone has a set of bookshelves that will compete please point me in their direction as well.
  11. I found an album I really love on a site called import cd's and it just looks a bit shady and I was wondering if anyone knows if its a reliable website to buy vinyl off of? Please help fast!
  12. Hello and welcome to our new support forum. Put simply, this is an area were you can voice any problems you're having with the community. Is a page not working? Let us know. Are you having trouble making a post? Let us know. Do you feel lonely? Well, actually, keep that to yourself. You get the idea. That said, we're also opening up this section to member support. There are times when another user can offer an answer before we can, so why not create a venue for that exchange? Enjoy.
  13. I know this is non-vinyl related, but I figure this community is as good as, if not better than, many other online music communities for doing research and helping a member out! I've seen this poster around, but I can't identify the artist nor where to even begin looking to buy one (other than combing eBay, which is tiring and fruitless at best). I figured maybe if you guys saw it you could help a brother out... Here she be: http://i45.tinypic.com/242u840.jpg Thanks for any help you can provide!
  14. I need some help getting some signed vinyl, the main one for my sisters birthday. If anyone can help me out, I will gladly pay you back, plus shipping and if you can score me a few I will throw in extra for real food at the Roo as if that actually exists. Seriously in need here and I will be eternally grateful and I would be glad to help any way I can in the future! Shoot me a PM or post here and I'll let you know! I'm good for it, I have people on here who can vouch!
