carryonkid
I just bought cans of Anchors Teddy Boy Original and Slick. They're pricey, but they smell incredible and have fantastic hold.
ronniegwilliams
I've used every damn pomade under the sun, from little companies only available online to the Layrites to Murrays. I'm ashamed to say that Axe Clean Cut is the best pomade I've used thus far to keep my wavy ass hair in place throughout the day
Sad Heart
Suavecito and Layrite.
BWALL
I'm ordering the anchors teddy boy 3 pack tomorrow, so I'm excited to try them. Been in love with the daimon barber, it's a wax based that doesn't harden and has one of the best smells around (smells like sweet roses). Also would recommend lockharts goon grease and the iron society.

imaxcowboyx
Well isn't this place a geographical oddity; two weeks from everywhere?! best line in the movie! also i came to recommend Layrite super hold. best i've used.
distinctlydustin
I use whatever I can find in the ebony section; typically it comes in a gold can.
NG1991
I have really thick hair and have a hard time finding the right pomade for my hair. I want something with a firm hold washes out easy and that will also last me awhile of usage. Anyone got any advice or preference?
IanRees
this is my personal process. i do a combover w/ a pomp. shower & wet hair towel dry hair, not completely but not too damp a scoop of either suavecito or layrite, regular hold. rub in hands and run through hair - i do my bangs last after most of the pomade is in the rest of my hair because if i use too much in the front it because a little difficult to shape. start shaping w/ a comb now here's where i differ than most people because i have thick hair and pretty difficult calics that are hard to deal w. i do a couple squirts of hairspray and then continue to shape w/ the comb and fine tune you'd think if i just left my hair a little more damp in the beginning i might not need the hairspray but i find it more difficult to get the shape i like. the hairspray also adds some extra hold but it does become kind of like a shell, although it still washes out easily. Axe Clean Cut works the best for me, as I've used it throughout the past couple of years or so. LayRite isn't so bad, but I found that it tended to leave my hair a bit curly. carryonkid
I have insanely thick hair as well. When my hair is especially unmanageable/I'm in a hurry, I use a dab of High Life. Stuff is super thick with crazy good hold. It's not easy to wash out, but it gets the job done well and has a great vanilla smell.
BWALL
How did you end up liking Black & White? I really like B&W, wish the smell was a bit better though. All things considered for the price of 15 bucks and the 7oz size it is one of my favorite mediums. Would definitely recommend it.
BWALL
If people are looking for good degreasing methods then watch this video. You can get groom and clean for 3 bucks at walmart.
nothnks
This is a good thread. I'm a cheapo, so right now I'm using Old Spice High Hold. It's aaight, smells like cologne, and holds my thick straight hair in place sometimes. When I have extra money, I use Uppercut Deluxe Matt Clay. TheGhostOfRandySavage
Always too poor for LayRite I treated myself last time I got my hair cut. Giving you whiskey at the barber shop is a really good idea for selling products.

There's a Punk barber shop in my town called Black Comb, and they suggest drinking while getting your hair did and I don't trust it.

Haha, this place just gives you one drink, free shoe shine and a cigar/cigarette when you get a haircut. (Best ever, btw.)

That sounds nuts! This place just has local craft beer and root beer for kids. Awesome place though, good music too. $15 for a cut, shave, and style. Pretty good if you ask me. BWALL
If anyone wants some good wax based pomades then check out lockharts. 5 different holds and they all smell fantastic. Use STREETTEAM5 for a discount as well. Also they're releasing a special Halloween edition pomade soon.
