kurtz
I still haven't read the book, but the movie looks really good.

sgoodcore
Must... make.... Survivor. That would make a killer movie. Kevin Spacey would be perfect for the lead, I think.
sewbr0
I thought they showed choke at SXSW this year. I heard they were. Is this still dropping in august or september?

I really liked Rant also. Waiting until I see Palahniuk next week to pick up Snuff though.
jhulud
Must... make.... Survivor. Backed. Palahniuk's best book IMO. Choke (movie) is coming out in September. The trailer makes it look like more of a psychotic comedy...which could be fine...as long as their true to the book which I'm re-reading at this time. thrillho
As an avid read of his work I am super stoked for this, I got a chance to meet him at a book signing (forgot my Fight Club DVD, DERP!) but he was very nice and met everyone who lined up. i think he stayed an extra hour to accomidate meeting and signing things for people (like me) who waited. And although I can't wait to see this, I think Survivor would have been a better chocie for the next book to movie adaption of his. last thing, I think his book "Lullaby" would make for an AMAZING suspenseful movie. gmoney
Am I the only who LOVES everything Palahniuk touches, but thought Haunted was complete shit?
sgoodcore
Lullaby would be totally out there as a movie. I think Survivor would be the most straight ahead adaptation.

Every signing and reading he has held that I've been to (4 so far), he has stayed extra time to make sure he meets with everyone who attended. He is a helluva guy for sure. Very appreciative of his fans and readers. The first reading/signing I went to, I brought a first edition of Fight Club for him to sign. He was blown away that anyone still had a first edition and he commented that he hadn't seen one in years.

akross
I thought they showed choke at SXSW this year. I heard they were. Is this still dropping in august or september? I thought I read somewhere that it was late September/early October... I also heard that there are some drastic differences from the book (not unlike Fight Club), but I am still interested in this. I feel like I fail for having neglected to read Survivor...

flicker
i read the book, and this looks almost a little to....light? i dont know...its been awhile... plus you cant really judge movies by their trailers.
thrillho
Survivor will never be made thanks to 9/11 True. I forgot about that. Damn it to hell being PC and shit... BAH! See? this is why Uwe (sucks)Boll's POSTAL only made 8100 bucks in it's opening weekend. DAMN YOU GOVERNMENT! i read the book, and this looks almost a little to....light?i dont know...its been awhile... plus you cant really judge movies by their trailers. as with any book by him, not all that is written will likely NOT be put on film. the story is very funny on the surface, but the real problems they address just add to the fucked nature of the interaction between them. The Doc Victor wants to "like" and his mother have very very good semi-fucked up backstories. this trailer i think was made to put an intial vibe of dark humor out there, but if they stayed true to the book enough it's going to be excellent. and +1 for casting Sam Rockwell, seems to fit the Victor character perfectly. dylan
i remember hearing right after fight club came out that survivor was gonna be the next movie, then 9/11 happened and they canceled it. so yeah, like loki said, i dont think this will ever see the light of day and im currently reading choke too, for some reason i kept putting it off, but now that the movie is coming out i gotta get it read before i see the movie
robotnerd
weird, i didn't really think choke was a very funny book. i liked it... but this trailer makes it look kinda hokey, almost like a slapstick comedy without "dudes getting hit in the balls" jokes. timwt
Choke was an awesome book. I saw him at a book signing in Boston in 2006. He seemed really nice and called me "a fellow pervert."
timwt
Also after watching the trailer, it makes me wish the two dudes from Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were staring.
riddle350
the trailer makes it look too happy. the book was really dark. Still it'l probably be good.
