jacobe
I'm hoping for an Astonishing Ominibus at some point with the entire Whedon run (I only read the first 12-15 issues). I just sold close to $300 in records and bought $300 in Absolutes I was missing and various other HC's.
monk0nuggets
I wish I could be ok with selling some of my stuff, but I really can't let go of something I wanted enough to buy. I need to buy a bunch of absolutes. They are so nice.
jacobe
I wish I could be ok with selling some of my stuff, but I really can't let go of something I wanted enough to buy. I need to buy a bunch of absolutes. They are so nice. Once 2 arrive this week I'll have all the DC/Vertigo ones, not too worried about the Wildstorm (planetary, etc) ones. I've been able to snag almost all of them on Ebay at a nice discount. Finally got a copy of JLA/Avengers HC (It's an "unofficial" Absolute) for under $100 yesterday. It went oop quicker than I thought and the price has skyrocketed. I'm a bit upset about the reprinting of the Watchman Absolute being done the month of the films release, DC said that the Absolute were to be a one time printing. monk0nuggets
Yeah, that's kind of lame they are reprinting Watchmen, but at the same time, that gives me hope that there may be reprints of Absolute Authority. It's way too damn expensive for me!
jacobe
If anyone is interested, I'm selling my Walking Dead trades (I have 1-7) and sticking with the yearly HC's. I'd do a decent deal on them as a set.
flatlinemole
Thought I'd post my tiny little collection after buying for a few weeks. so far, you've chosen some really really good titles! have you read them all/what do you think?
monk0nuggets
The only things I haven't read yet are Captain America (which I have the omnibus coming in the mail), Vol 2-3 of New X-Men and Orbiter. I loved everything I have so far. It's really bad news for my wallet on top of this vinyl habit of mine.

kurtz
Have any of you guys used Comic Collector Live before? http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/ I recently downloaded the free software and I'm currently entering my whole collection. I really like it so far. It's easy to enter what you own and a nice way of keeping an inventory. For most issues, it has the cover art, writer, artist, story, etc... listed for reference. You can enter your own info like grade, price paid, and other notes. It has a marketplace too that seems pretty cool. Overall, it gets a big thumbs up from me! You guys should check it out. devilstrombone
I'm currently reading Batman Broken. Its the one where Bane breaks his back. This story is fucking brutal.
jacobe
I'm currently reading Batman Broken. Its the one where Bane breaks his back. This story is fucking brutal. The whole storyline is titled "Knightfall" and it's followed by "Knightquest" and finally "Knightsend". It starts really strong, gets a bit silly and ends really well with the final confrontatin with AzBats being pretty great.
monk0nuggets
Holy moly. I just got hooked up! Ebay auction ended early for me for: Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men Vol 1-5 Marvel Masterworks: The Avengers Vol 1 Marvel Masterworks: The Fantastic Four Vol 6 Ok. I am serious. I'm going to take a small buying break.
jacobe
I'm not a fan of the Masterworks collections, but you picked up some classic material there.
monk0nuggets
I haven't been able to skim through a Masterworks book. What don't you like about them?
jacobe
The price vs. the amount of content held within. They are nicely bound/collected/designed, but most don't have nearly enough collected to warrant the high price tag. I'd think at $25/each they are a nice deal, no more than that though (sorry if you paid more!)
monk0nuggets
I paid about $30 a piece, plus 2 of them are out of print and are virtually no where to be found.
andrew13
are the masterworks b&w? i almost ordered the punisher 2nd series ones til i read in previews it was b&w, then i changed my mind. ended up winning the whole 2nd series for like $40 on ebay anyways. monk0nuggets
No, I'm pretty sure they are full color, unless the original run was in black and white.
kurtz
The "Essential" Marvel books are the black and white ones. It sucks that they are b&w, but you get still get alot for how cheap they are.
flatlinemole
hey monk, where did you get those Planetary HC's? did you find them on ebay/did you get a good deal on them?
monk0nuggets
Yeah, I got 2 on ebay from one seller and one on Amazon market place. I paid $30 a piece for the 2 and $40 for the one on Amazon.

monk0nuggets
I actually don't own any floppy comics and don't really intend to. I prefer to sit down and read through an entire story in a few hours instead of reading it in parts over the course of months.
