kurtz
Im in shock at how amazing Blackest Night is. I've heard a lot of good things about Blackest Night. I might have to pick it up in trades. I never follow event books as they come out anymore.

Scud the Disposable Assassin: The Complete Shebang! and Dead@17 Ultimate Edition number 1 Dead is very solid so far, and hell i remember ordering the individual books of Scud back in the day. hooray 90's nostalgia. monk0nuggets
For fun last night I filled up an Amazon cart with some hardcover collections I want just to see how much it would be total. ugh. For 12 books it comes to $437.18. Fuck, that's a lot of dough to drop on 12 books.
kurtz
I just bought Asterios Polyp by David Mazzucchelli and The Book of Genesis Illustrated by R. Crumb on Amazon. Has anyone read Asterios Polyp? I honestly know very little about it, but I'm seeing it at the top of lots of year's end lists, so I figured it's something I should probably read. tributefanzine
I used to collect Spawn comics for a while. I always had a fascination for comics but concerts and records already ate too much of the budget... I am in to the following Comics : -Terminator -Alien -Transformers - Beavis & Butthead ( I have the complete German edition and a few American issues) - Robocop
inutil
I just bought Asterios Polyp by David Mazzucchelli and The Book of Genesis Illustrated by R. Crumb on Amazon.Has anyone read Asterios Polyp? The story isn't that good at all, but the way he tells it is just too awesome. Could've been better but it's definetely one of the top books of 09. monk0nuggets
I sat and read through the first 12 issues of The Walking Dead yesterday. Damn it's great. I had heard it was good, but I am now a fan. For being a black and white book, it sure is pretty. I'll probably be picking up volume two within the week. Up next is Swamp Thing volume 2. laurenxvx
Thanks guys! I'm going to go check those out this weekend. I have a fairly large list of video game/comic book wants but I haven't felt motivated to actually pick anything up because I haven't heard any recommendations. Those two were not on my list, but I'll give them a look. Also, I don't want to read through the whole thread, but have any of you read Bone? I don't know if I can get through it without laughing at "Boneville" (ok, so I might act like I'm 12 years old at times)
kurtz
Bone is a must read! Get the "one volume edition". It's handy having the entire series in one book.
dynamitekid
Bone is soooo good. I read that whole thing in 2 days I think. I should read that again

monk0nuggets
I've had Absolute Sandman Vol 2 sitting in my cart for the past couple days at Tales of Wonder, and I went to check out today and it's out of stock and no where to be found anywhere else. This day is going badly.
kurtz
Alright, here's the Frank Cho collection. For those who aren't familiar with Frank Cho's work, Liberty Meadows is a comic strip he has done for most of his career. It was syndicated in some newspapers for a while, but Cho dropped it from syndication in '01 because he was sick of being edited and censored so much. IMO it's the best comic strip since Calvin & Hobbes. The little cartoon monkey character you will see on some of these books is Frank's "self-portrait". This is a shitload of pictures so I'll break it down into a couple of posts.
