flood
ok i've run into another of these for one of my favorite bands... i have a test for They Might be Giants 12" single of Twisting. and i just won a test press for their 12" single of James K Polk... now as far as i know neither were ever commercially issued as a 12" single... and i've yet to see a non test press version of either.... what gives? gristlejaw
I Have a James K. Polk /ant (i think) test press too. I don't have any info on it. sorry.
xfedaykinx
isnt james polk/ ant just the B-side of the Twisting test?
qskapunk
let's go bowling - freeway lanes on asian man records only exists as a test presses
hickey
I'm sure there are tons of records like that. The tests were made then the label never forked over the dough for the legit pressing. There are also labels floating around for records that were never pressed (Rancid/Avail split 7" on Lookout, for example).
thisisahiijack
there's also artwork for the squirtgun/walker 7" but squirtgun never got in the studio to record their stuff so it got canceled.
dynamitekid
apparently there's a screeching weasel split like this
jailhouse
Teenage Rehab/Moral Crux split: Never existed, Lookout Records had it in their catalog forevor, maybe still does? But you still see it at some online shops, and discography pages sometimes. It was planned 4 times, and even songs recorded for it, but no pressing
xfedaykinx
isnt james polk/ ant just the B-side of the Twisting test? i just confirmed. my Twisting test press is b-sided with James K. Polk and Ant. im assuming you won the test that ended today. if so, youll notice in the pic that its a photo of the B-side of the record. xfedaykinx
sure have, but tmbg.org has a much more comprehensive discography here: http://www.tmbg.org/band-info/discography/indexg.html however, according to the tmbg.org discography, the Twisting 12" is supposed to be the same on both sides. its a real headache trying to find all the information for this stuff
