xxfesterxx
he must be getting emails left and right hopefully it will result in him correctly listing his auctions
chaz725
yeah i hope so, i dont want to be wasting my time filing a complaint and all, but why does someone have to lie to sell records and make a living? if it would have just said "there are 70 of each color" the odds are pretty good they would have sold just as well and people would have happily paid
Duff
the price was my biggest problem at first. he listed the under the boards /50 and whatever the other one is for $16.99. these wound up to be $31 after shipping, which is the most ive ever spent on a single record. the only reason i decided to buy it was because i had a 10% off coupon for paypal, so i felt a little less guilty about paying for it. it still wound up to be 28.99 after the discount. Duff
does this guy actually work for cobraside, because when he was selling the under the boards stuff he said he worked at the pressing plant. or are they one in the same?
wannabepunktony
LOLz - this thread blew up! This is just getting messier and messier, as things of the nature do. All I can say is Cobraside generally isn't open on the weekends, at least with correspondence, so I wouldn't expect to hear from anyone until Monday. Hopefully they will clear the air with this and whoever DM is. Like I said earlier, GQD.com did the same shit with video games. First it was, 'we found these super rare games in our warehouse, all brand new, please throw money at us' to 'we just sell what we have for prices all over the place in attempts to run the market on these games because we can' to 'yes, we've been repressing these games ourselves the whole time and selling them for outrageous prices in little batches to rip everyone off and make people think they're still rare when we actually have 1,000s just hanging out - our bad. Here's a free shipping coupon.' ;P

No, they had full permission to print those games, they just lied about not only having that permission, but about their copies being newly pressed ones and how many they had. They got greedy, started selling them on every site out there (Amazon, eBay, etc.) for crazy prices and people began to notice that they had sold far too many copies of games that had long gone out of print for it to be just a 'warehouse find.' Eventually what is beginning to happen here happened over at CheapAssGamer.com in a thread, the whole thing blew right up in GQD's face and by the time the real story was out, they had isolated and pissed off a sizable chuck of consumers and have been working to get them back since. adamlikesmusic
So you guys only buy shit if it's extremely limited? I don't completely get what people are mad about. If you want the record, buy it.

actorinthisplay
well I bought a red/white one and sent him an e-mail to clarify the /35 or the /70...we'll see what he says
actorinthisplay
just got an e-mail back in which he clarified it is indeed /70.
rhythmgtr5
just got an e-mail back in which he clarified it is indeed /70. that is so shady. I think tomorrow I'll send him a message stating that I'd like a refund as the original description was false - is there anything else I should say? actorinthisplay
no, just tell him you want a refund...I mean this still is a limited edition out of 70...that is pretty good. why you would buy a vinyl that is /35 and not /70 is beyond me. actorinthisplay
well that's cool then...you could always just buy it and then flip it later for probably double. whatever, do what you want but I am super excited for this.
jacobe
I plan on selling them. I feel better knowing I'll make more from them than he will.

matt
im a little surprised i gave in and bought this. oh well, i like the album enough. had a nice $10 off coupon from ebay so $21 isnt so bad. also... So you guys only buy shit if it's extremely limited? I don't completely get what people are mad about. If you want the record, buy it. troof! thebaroness
i didnt even ask to be refunded, he just took it upon himself to do it. can he even do that without me asking or telling him to, isnt it a contract both ways if i paid. and how can he say not everyone paid, thats why theres more than 35 that were offered for sale. hes been relisting things all day long. does he wait or expect someone to pay in like 2 hours. yeah, it is a contract, one which he induced you to enter under false pretenses. Furthermore, as these were billed as a 'ltd edition' he should have known that the pressing numbers would be a major factor in your decision to purchase, so therefore it is MDC (at least under Aus law, but pretty sure US is similar for this). He effectively broke the contract to buy with you for no good reason - you getting huffy is not sufficient justification for breaking it. alphanumerica
I've delt with this guy in the past. was very nice. out of LA and seems to be German. But what i got was 2X LP of Tool's Salival. When I bought it I was fairly certain it was a boot, so i didn't care. I just wanted it on vinyl. It was a great transaction. I was happy, but knew what I was getting. He claimed, in November that the tool album was limited to 350 copies. Since then he has sold over 1000 copies (and counting). He sold them as a, " buy this copy of Tool - Opiate for $50 and get a free copy of Tool's Salival. The Opiate LP was also a boot. The cover was new but faded, if you know what i mean. That's my experience with the Dub. I highly doubt this guy has anything to do with Cobraside. If your interested in resale and/or trade "value," you sould ask for your money back. cause these will most likley prove to be boots. chaz725
either he actually managed to sell the rest still or he took them down...we'll see waht happens
Duff
if they turn out to be boots i guess the purple and turqoise of under the boards are as well, along with this new color.
lynchme
Aren't the purple and turquoise colors of under the boards legit colors that were pressed? IS it really that easy to make your own copies?
chaz725
its interesting because he talks about how expensive they are to make....coraside would never say something like that or have someone sell their item like that under a legit label like vagrant records...same goes for the fraud listing info but thats another story. i cant figure this out
