troymess
Tried to order and it looks like it sold out already...I own the original press of this, but wouldn't have minded seeing this on blue. Bummer...

adamlikesmusic
This is only the 100 that VC got with the old covers. There's still another 900 copies that Timbo probably hasn't alotted to any distros yet. (Granted with new covers.)
706union
1) Repressings being the rarest variations = total bullshit 2) Records that are sold out within minutes = total bullshit = artifical rarity Modern day pressings can go f### themselves. Just my two cents
Guest Admin
got an ok from mutant pop to get 50 more of the old covers with blue vinyl. get one if you need it cause they will be gone by day's end I am sure.

Just my two cents ??? It was up for a good chunk of the day. And what does it matter which pressing has the rarest variant? It gets more and more difficult to keep track of new releases. To me it seems some of the collectibility is made up artificially. You know it´s only like 3-4 years ago when you could sit back order a record within the first 2 weeks of it´s release and be sure to score color vinyl. Come on, its crazy...everyone´s sitting in front of the comp and hits the refresh button 100 times a day...I mean don´t tell me you didn´t know 500 Lawrence Arms LP sell out that quick!? Damn, press a 1000 then. About the repressings: I don´t see the need in making a repress limited. If you want a 1st limited pressing go and shell out the bucks for it. If you just want the music go buy a repress. Why make a repress limited? Right, there´s only one reason: Make people buy it. I don´t accuse anyone for doing so and in the end it´s everyoné choice to buy it or not but overall it goes in the wrong direction I think. It's always a total bummer to see your favorite album NOT on vinyl because someone didn't want to do unlimited repressings. BUT, I also enjoy collecting. And absolutely the newest AMR pressing was waaay too small.

And absolutely the newest AMR pressing was waaay too small. I totally agree with you. I´m a collector myself but I don´t see the need in making real limited represses. Sure, I want every good record to be available on vinyl. But it´s not a secret that a lot of stuff is going to Ebay anyway. So why not honor the kids that are there when a record comes out and give them a real cool limited piece of vinyl. If someone jumps on the train years later that´s totally cool...there should be a repress if there´s demand but why make it even more limited than the first press on red wax (sticking to the D4 7´´)??? I don´t get it...my only explanation is that it sells better which is stupid...who buys a record because of its color...Hell, D4 could put out plain black wax for the rest of their lives and I´d still be there buying it. So...my point is: I believe many of today´s records are rather sold because of rarity than anything else. I don´t have any other explanation for the flood of records on ebay. I'm about 99% sure it's just because Timbo had extra jackets from the first press. Wouldn't make sense not to use them. Also, nowadays you have people buying with no intentions other than profiting. I mean every time a new FAT release comes out, the week it's shipped, you see an abundance of threads on this very message board, of people trying to profit off of them. timpopkid
Surely you all realize that you can create your own rarest varient by buying one of the other 900 on blue and then just swap the cover with one of the old 7"s on black right?

mattramone
For all the bitching about rarity, I'm just glad these songs are available again. One of the best releases from one of the best modern bands extant. People who care more about the rarity than the content of the grooves are just flippers, anyway. troymess
It'd be awesome if we could get the mp3's for this release as well, as most of the rips I've heard haven't really been "up to par".
adamlikesmusic
Any chance you guys got any extra covers? My jacket came pretty fucked up. (The bubble mailer was pretty screwed too, though I'm not sure if that did it.)
xxmartinxx
I received mine the other day and was shocked to find it was only sent in a bubble mailer. No cardboard or anything to keep it from being destroyed. Miraculously it survived.
