mrc
i have had 2 of these and both were black. just didnt have detroit fest thing, and neither have been numbered.
jhulud
As far as I know from the guy who ran Undecided (he used to live right down the street from me), the black ones were specifically made for the fest. Unless that they had leftovers and sold them without the numbered "cover".
Guest kylewilliam
dude where in SoFla are you? If you lived near alex that means WPB/Boca, right?

scottheisel
I just checked my copy and it is also black without being numbered. Ditto. I bought mine back on my 18th birthday (March 23, 2000); I actually bought Kid Dynamite's Shorter, Faster, Louder the same day, and I got to see Alkaline Trio that night. Best 24 hours ever? Possibly!

thoughtsky
Sorry to dig this thread up but I need your help to identify one those I bought as a purple. As it arrived I was sure that this is grey but I know there can be several variants so I'm not sure. If anyone could help me out I'd be thankful! thoughtsky
Does the normal grey variant also have those white / purple marbles or swirls in it? This is the thing that kept me wondering!
xtobi-wanx
Does the normal grey variant also have those white / purple marbles or swirls in it? This is the thing that kept me wondering! yep, they do. i have a grey copy and a greyish purple (not the bright purple one jhulud posted in the beginning - would be looking for it, though!). both have some swirls in it. but when you hold them close together, one is clearly greyish purple and one clearly grey with some swirls. thoughtsky
Ok so this one definitely counts as a grey? Alright! Wow I'm sure I'm gonna have a hard time Finding a purple one then..! Thanks a lot!
thoughtsky
Ok next question regarding this record I bought one of these on ebay and the seller claimed it was the Detroit Fest Edition but the small paper like in the picture here was missing. Although he claimed that this is the detroit fest edition! Is there any other indicator for that? He said there was a number or something but there wasn't anything like that. It came yesterday and it looks exactly like the ordinary black one. Is there any other difference to the normal black version?? If yes, I'd like to get my money back as I paid a bit more what I would have paid for the normal black one, besides I already own this. I was outbid the last second, though. Lucky me ;-) Sorry, mate. Regarding the question: not to my knowledge.
jhulud
The only thing making it a Detroit Fest edition was that wrap-around strip on it as it's in the pics. The numbering was also on that strip. Otherwise it's just a plain ol' black copy. Although I've heard conflicting stories at how only black was available at Detroit Fest. thoughtsky
So much of those blacks around. I think there must have been a separate pressing! I hope I can snag one of those one day :(
