catalinacaper
Don't be that mad, Braves have been destroying relievers all season so far. I think they've won half their games in the 7th-9th
abovetheearth
True. And I know the braves are hot. But after the back to back dings, remove pitcher. Not keep him in for another. He makes questionable moves and non moves.

On the other hand, by making it a 4 run lead instead of 2, you at least had a chance to set something up in the 9th by seeing Avilan instead of Kimbrel first. saxonviolons
The Angels kinda suck, man.
travis
The Angels are bummin' me the fuck out. The pitching is an absolute joke. I dunno what the point of spending all this cash of Pujols and Hamilton was if they were going to completely ignore the pitching side of things. I dont think anyone is surprised that Hanson and Blanton are terrible again and now they have nothing to trade for pitching except starting position players. chamb117
someone on espn insider said the angels should trade for bud norris. i love that idea because norris is solid and would benefit greatly from a better offense. but then the writer says the trade package should be centered around garrett richards. what? really? my friend and i were completely dumbfounded bordering on embarrassed when we heard the angels signed blanton. that is a fucking JOKE. he doesn't deserve to be on any big league roster except maybe houston's or miami's, and he still would only be a #3 at best. the angels, like the blue jays, have zero bench depth. it's pitiful. travis
Yea I couldnt believe they signed Blanton, I think its for 2 years too! I'd be fine with them dropping Blanton and Hanson and slotting in Williams and Richards as the 4/5 starters. This is embarrassing, as bad as they were to start last year, this year is worse. chamb117
that's like the fifth or sixth pitcher that has suffered giving up 6+ ER in an individual inning or less. boggs, norris, zito, mcdonald, johnson. halladay too? more? not to mention all of the aces that got blown out on their seconds starts back in the first week. thebiglebowski
Ian Desmond is getting screwed by batting behind laroche. Dude has something like 8 singles, 8 doubles, and a triple that have all resulted in zero RBIs. His three ribeyes are 2 solo bombs and a single sac fly. Should be pushing 10 at least. lemongoat
I own Desmond :/ Oakland has more runs in 6 games vs The Astros than 4 teams have all season.
thebiglebowski
I own him too. It's better than him not hitting but come on -- lombardozzi hitting second tonight? I get that Desmond isn't a high obp guy but he just produces runs with his solid speed/power combo. Foolishness.

chamb117
the red sox have been on a mini-tear of sorts. i was watching last night and saw ellsbury and victorino record back-to-back hits. man, that 1-2 ain't too shabby. in other news, matt cain. yikes. two of four starts where he's been absolutely pummeled. i know analysts will be all over it so i'm curious to see what they conclude. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
yeah, this is crazy if the brewers sweep the giants today.
thebiglebowski
Cain's problem is definitely the long ball. His whip isn't elite but not THAT bad (1.32). Compare that to Lincecum (1.56) or Haren (2.03) and there is a big difference. Maybe they will conclude that he just mislocated a few pitches that got hammered and he needs to keep the ball down in the zone. Or else they will just say "he looks good, this happens, just chance that it happened twice in four starts to start the year". I am not worried about him at all (other than the fact that having these two starts already means that the ERA is likely over 3 rather than under if he just pitches like himself from here out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
he gave up a 2run HR in each of the first three innings today. somehow, the brewers have won 4 in a row, and Loshe still has yet to get a win.

catalinacaper
Yeah it's Gattis' nickname he picked up in the Winter Leagues in Venezuela Also JUp hit #9 tonight, and Chris Johnson has been batting over .400. Diamondbacks have to be butthurt.

travis
Angels finally showing some signs of life. Stoked to see Trout hit his first grand slam just now. I can't believe how well they are playing against a team like the Tigers so far in this series. Rough day for Porcello.
