I don't know how to put my finger on it, but I feel like it had such a surreal feel too it, like with the camera fuzzing effects after he get electrocuted. I thought it was just overall funny and simplistic. I didn't have extremely high expectations which also makes most movies decent at worst. I'm glad you enjoyed this film, Yu! Like only 15 minutes of the movie is them remaking old movies, and that all the funny parts are shown in the trailer. Sounds typical of comedy movies from this era. Ya, there isn't a whole lot of them actually remaking movies but damn does this film have a lot of creativity and heart which is hard to find in films these days. If I had seen it when it came out, before I'd seen any Gondry films, I'd be sort of disappointed that it wasn't funnier. I still need to see this though.
