mdupnic
I bought a supposedly "never played" vinyl (i cant verify this). when i received this record and proceeded to play it, the quality was not very good. The static was almost as loud as the music and makes listening to the record very difficult. Is this record damaged or is there some other explanation you can provide? jhulud
Is it scratched up? Scuffed? Bent? What record is it? We need a bit more info to help you out.

mclz
there are also some records that are just defected. a few years ago i bought fifteen - hush 12" and it was skipping a bunch so a bought another and that skipped too. when i asked hopeless they said that all the records had that defect. mdupnic
it was Brand New's "deja entendu". it looks fine and its not the needle because it plays all my other records fine.
jhulud
That's weird. My copy plays fine.

Good catch, was the re-issue or the first U.K issue? I have never heard of any problems with it though. Try cleaning the record off? Sorry dude, that sucks. mcm1610
Give it a wash with a cleaning solution. I've had a few come that skipped and I was bummed, but of those that did that and weren't visibly damaged, only one failed to get fixed by a wash. thomas
My copy of this sounds like ass, and skips a ton. I think a lot of repress was fucked, and Triple Crown did not care. You might be sol, since the guy was probably not lying.

rtw88
I remember there was a lot of talk about one of the sides skipping a lot. I think my copy had one skip when I bought it. I haven't heard of a copy like this though.
jon720
My copy doesn't skip, but sounds like ass. It's got some distortion or fuzziness it seems like. Oh well.
