So they took pre-orders before they even started putting the project together? Most labels start pre-orders once the record is sent to printers, and all the logistics have been figured out. But it sounds like they took peoples money, than started putting everything together. I wouldn't call what they're doing "shady", just really fuckin' stupid.

Saw this on the B9 board yesterday

"Hey everyone. I wanted to give a little news on the Kid Dynamite tribute that Get Outta Town Records and Black Numbers Records are doing together. First off, thanks for everyone being patient with this release. Between Copperlung Records opting out of the release and having to pick up the pieces with bands not submitting their tracks and not getting back to us, it has really been a headache. Anyway, now that things are finally coming to a close, we wanted to just let everyone know that we're getting close to wrapping up and wanted to post updated cover art as well as track listing. Thanks!

Just read this on the Black Numbers website:

Get Outta Town Records and Black Numbers are excited to announce that “Carry the Torch: A Tribute to Kid Dynamite” will be formally released on CD July 7, 2009 and on LP July 14, 2009. The final product boasts introspectives written by Dan Yemin and Dave Wagenschutz, as well as guest vocals by Yemin on Three's A Party with No Harm Done. Are you fucking kidding me? July?? This is a joke.

These 8 month pre-orders are getting ridiculous.

I totally understand there are delays and what not that will come up but this is just too much.

Pre-orders shouldnt go up until they know exactly what is going to be on the album and have all their shit together. Also asking for extra money after people have already ordered it cause they fucked up is pretty amateur, especially when they say you get a d/l of the album and then not even give that out for months and months....which I think everyone is STILL waiting on.
