sgoodcore
My turntable doesn't use a slip mat. I place my vinyl a large, heavy chunk of acrylic and screw it down. So I don't get to have a Wu-Tang slip mat. But I can do this, like this Japanese fellow demonstrates. Do what exactly? I must be missing something. Illuminate the acrylic platter through colored vinyl. Hey... I never said it was that great of a trick.
xxmartinxx
If I had that turntable I wouldn't even think about slipmats. I don't think I could use one if I wanted to. I would imagine that clamping the record down with a mat would break the record.

ronniethebear
Some people say they're only for looks, but I also hear that it can help as a dampener of sorts, cutting down vibration between the platter and the record itself, especially if there's a bit of warp in it.
