bruins4ever
Does anyone here set a limit on how much they'll drop for an LP? Myself, I don't personally, however I'm not gonna spend $85 on a Gaslight Anthem Sink or Swim. Do you guys feel the guilt of dropping a mad amount of coin on a record, or are you just stoked you finally got that record you'd been looking for? cj
i've done it and felt guilty but once it comes in the mail its all worth it... ill only do it if its something ive wanted and couldnt find for a long time
j4m35
i'd much rather trade over selling. i'd probably drop $30 on an lp and $15 on a 7 inch. this of course depends on my money situation and the album. lots of variables buddy. lots of variables. xfedaykinx
stuff i want but am not insanely crazy about owning ill go up to $20-30 more rare things ill consider $50-60 have yet to top $50 though.
slymer
I probably wouldn't spend more than $30 on an LP. I mostly buy stuff that's currently in print or just released, or cheap stuff I can find at record stores. I guess I'm not as die-hard of a collector as most people in here. cadetapplesauce
the most i've ever spent on any single record was $
cj
i spend 120 on a 7" i felt like an idiot so i sold some shit on ebay and ended up convincing myself that i traded a bunch of crap i didnt need for a record that i did!
troymess
I think I might be dropping a large amount of dough on a record soon...most I've spent so far though is about $50 for and LP. I've dropped $30 each for a couple of rare 7 inches.
scottheisel
I pretty much stop bidding on things on eBay around the $25-30 mark (up to $50 if it's something I desperately, desperately need, which rarely happens). Eventually, a deal will come along and I'll get what I want.
minty
the most i've ever spent on any single record was $135 Greatest Story?
captainmorgan
Yeah, generally I won't go over maybe $40LP and $25-30 for a 7" with very, very few exceptions. Although every once in a while somethings pops up that you're just not going to get very many chances at (test pressings, tour vinyl). alejandroid
i'm not too hardcore about it, but most i've paid is like $22ppd, i'd probably go up to $50 but only for something i really really want.
cadetapplesauce
the most i've ever spent on any single record was $135 Greatest Story? yeah, also the shook ones FFF test pressing. $135 altogether for the shooks 7" and sixteen LP test pressings, $225ppd for green apathy and blue oh calcutta.... gosh, i miss having a job.... derbsauce
I would be willing to pay $50-60 for the rare shit that I just "have to have"...anything else...$20-30. The most "expensive" LP's I've bought so far have been Shook Ones and Paint It Black...but those were no more than $30.
cadetapplesauce
i spent $35 on a tegan and sara lp (new from the merchstore). but it was "found" i guess... i dont know how many people jumped on that. but that was about as high as i went for a brand new, relatively common record. kurtz
I won't spend any more than $25-$30 on 1 LP
xxmartinxx
I'll pay around $100 for an album I can't get on CD.
counterfiction
depends on the record, honestly
AsleepOnRocks
Most i've spent on one LP was $65 shipped (Jesu - Jesu Pic Disc, with slipmat) But, the most i've spent on vinyl would be the $150-something the Sigur Ros box set/book thing cost, totally worth it though... That's only until the Isis box goes up for sale though.
Guest vito
i spent $50 on Jesu's s/t after shipping and exchange rate (when the CAD was totally weak a couple of years ago) and $60 + shipping on NIN's the Fragile around the same time. Those are the only times I've spent more than $30. Both some of my favourite OOP albums so I didn't mind paying the prices.
magalvsr13
ive tried to set monthly spending limits.....ive always failed
bruins4ever
I've spent $45 so far (Fall of Troy - Doppelganger) from someone here on the boards, but that's as high as I've gone. However, when I end up getting around to my Jimmy Eat World and the coloured Lawrence Arms.... ugh. However, I don't know if I'll feel guilty, simply because getting my hands on a nice piece of vinyl is such a nice feeling. The sound, the packaging, everything, is basically worth the price of admission to me.
