salparadise
i deal with her cats, she can deal with my records. My cats drive me crazy. I always have to clean off the cat hair from my records because it's all in the air and stuff. And they always try to rub up against the edges of my records/bins. me or the cats. i think eventually. rivalcycle
i have a monthly spending limit of 300 bucks (includes gas money, records, eating out at restaurants, various purchases) and i rarely go over that. as far as records go, i've spent some "big "bucks on a lot of my jazz vinyl (haven't put it up on the tradelist yet..). i use the term big loosely, because to me, spending more than 45 - 50 bucks for a record is insane. the most i've dropped was 35 ppd. and that was for one of my white whales. rafter242
I've spent over $500 several times on a single LP with my top purchase of $1,100 on a rare Beatles LP. (stereo ad-back)

mcm1610
I try to have a limit, but I often break it. I then justify it by saying "well, it's $X a day for a month.. will I enjoy it that much a day? probably.." and then I buy it.
timpopkid
The most I ever spent on a 7" was $465. But I've spent more than $100 on a 7" a bunch of times. This is what happens when you collect Rocket From the Crypt records...
xforlifex
Most for a 7": Fix-Jans Room 350.00 Most for an LP: American Nightmare-Background Music Blood splatter press 375.
rtw88
My general rule tends to be no more than $20 for an LP or $10 for a 7". It makes trying to get expensive/rare records fun.
ocnypunk
We all have some limits. But i guess if someones "white whale" hits ebay your limit go down the drain. especially if its something that you rarely ever see for sale.

daniel
Yeah. List price. I don't even buy 7" records as I find that they are vastly overpriced for their content. I do really, REALLY want that Anberlin 7" that came with CD pre-orders at Interpunk though. Whatever.
nickheitman
i usually spend until i have bout $10 in my paypal account/debit card. these $10 are reserved for EXTREMELY important records, that may pop up unannounced. of course, these type of things never happen until i have no money at all. nickheitman
how the hell do you guys have so much money nice to see you again friend. truth is i don't have much money. any i get i spend on records or food, so it's gone very fast. but alot of my money comes from filming lacrosse games for my school. you see, i film the games, then i ask the kids and their parents if they want the game on dvd. then they pay me $5 for each DVD. some parents are really into it and get every game. 20 games x $5 per game = $100 from one parent. helps me stay posi! mrc
this month i bought 2 pricey records. Compared to others its chump change, but its the most i have spent. 45ppd for screeching weasel LP and 70ppd for antoher screeching weasel - ramones LP on white vinyl. 70 bucks is the highest price i have paid, the other SW record is tied for 2nd highest (i also bought Lawrence arms - greatest story ever told on maroon vinyl for 45ppd). i try to keep my record spending to a minium but continue to fail on a monthly basis.
