controlthebleeding
unreal that's almost a understatement. with that much money involved that he ripped people off for. 5 digit #'s if im not mistaken.
decibel120
How was he duplicating these? Were the fakes just printed out, or did he take the time to sep the colours and re-screen? You'd think you'd be able to tell it was fake if you couldn't feel the screened layers... no?
jhulud
That, no one knows. The people that had the fake Jane Does said that the paper felt thinner and that the number was printed and not stamped.
xjustinxschwierx
ultimately this is why you should buy art from the artist exclusively...and never from eBay.
rtw88
I read about 30 pages on the EB thread a few days ago. Fucking terrible. He sold some dude a fake Fairey print for 3 grand. Apparently that dude got most of his money back, but paid $600 to have it appraised as a fake or not. For those of you who didn't go that in depth, as it turns out the dude just got out of prison a few months ago for ripping of people for $24,000 on Nissan forums. He's apparently a tattoo artist, and good at copying. For the proofs that he faked, he traded with a guy with the print, kept it for a month to copy it, then sent it back saying it was damaged, if I got the story right. jhulud
I stopped following the EB thread when it got to 112 pages. I know that it's a lot more now.
