kirbypuckett
http://www.pcworld.com/article/163765/so_long_geocities_we_forgot_you_still_existed.html I don't think I ever had a website on Geocities -- I always used Angelfire, but I had a ton of Geocities accounts when I ran my Punk MP3 site back in the day. I used to upload MP3s to Geo, but they had to be zipped or I'd have to change the extension to get past their rules. Long live animated construction .gifs!!! mutinyzine
I used Geocities for a few of my first websites. They all sucked and so did Geocities... but... R.I.P. old friend and thanks for all.
mclz
I use to have a few geocities websites, and i know a lot of punk bands if you go far enough on archive.org, they all had geocities websites (or a college page which i think was probably the most popular if the band had a website). thats how i got a lot of pressing info on my records. murakami
sad. when i was in high school i played a PC game - Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers and it got me obsessed with voodoo for a short period of time and Geocities was the host of my online voodoo cartel i think i had like 8 members. thesupervillain
Geocities always makes me think of webrings for some reason. The internet was funny 12 years ago.
scottheisel
I was mainly on Tripod, but also had a page on Geocities, mainly for storage. Angelfire sucked, they always deleted potentially offensive content.

bryneyancey
The first reviews I ever wrote in my life at the age of 15-16 were posted on a Geocities page. I'm surprised it lasted this long.
