robotnerd
i just got around to seeing it last night. did anyone else think it was really just pretty good? i don't see what the fuss is about. it wasn't danny boyle's best movie, it wasn't even particularly affective, it was just pretty standard triumph of the human spirit fare. hairgrowth2001
This movie was over hyped. It was a letdown by the time I saw it.

xxmartinxx
When judged against the catalog of film since the advent of cinema, it's not that spectacular. When judged against the piles of garbage that has been passed off as movies for the past decade, it's brilliant.
lokithelion
God this movie was a b- at best. the hype is all hollywood guilt.
whateverrrr
maybe it was because I saw this way before all of the hype began, almost immediately after it was released in the U.S., but I found it incredible. In fact, I remember writing a review about it and the way I describe how I felt after watching it was like being held under water for a long time and you get that first breath. To me, Slumdog Millionaire felt like that first breath. I thought the editing was incredible and the concentrated colors were perfect, even if expected. The premise was genius and the acting was far better than some acting from more seasoned professionals. I just, really liked it. I ended up seeing it 5 times in the theatre between Late November/Early December & February.
tanukichu
I watched it while disregarding the hype and I enjoyed it. I totally cried. Movies tend to make me cry.

jordan999
while it was over-hyped, it was deservingly so compared to the other major (shitty) releases of the year.
