kyle
Thinking about it now, it was pretty bad. He tried to hard to make it overly offensive and humor was sacrificed because of that. There were only two or three scenes that really stand out. Yeah, I agree. Everything felt forced and stale. Every joke simply fell flat. For the first half hour I sat there waiting for it to pick up but then I realized it wasn't going to. I saw it with a nearly full audience and that theatre was pretty quiet. People were laughing, but it was more like chuckles than absolute laughter like I heard in the last film. There were some bros behind me laughing really hard but you could tell they would laugh at any gay joke you threw at them. This movie was a total disappointment. saxamaphone
I love how the image of a penis in any context other than the penetration of a vagina strikes fear in the hearts of straight men. "Oh no!! A penis! AHH! Another one!! I hope this movie doesn't turn me gay…" Guys who think like that tend to be really, really gay.
jawbroken
i thought it was funny, but overall i think it was trying too hard. It seemed like it was several Bruno shorts from the show strung together, rather than a real cohesive story.
mcm1610
I love how the image of a penis in any context other than the penetration of a vagina strikes fear in the hearts of straight men. Well, there is one other exception--when they're in the locker room giving each other butt pats and "atta bros". As someone who has played sports his whole life, I find these generalizations really annoying.
thomas
Never saw borat. Probably won't ever see this. This, though I think I watched about 15 minutes of Borat and it was horrible.
tanukichu
Hmm...I will wait for it to show up online. I want to see it before I dismiss it as a 2-hour gay joke. I liked Borat ok. I even own it (because I got the DVD for like 5 bucks).
scottheisel
Borat lost all of its humor for me on repeated watches. I saw an advance screening of it a month before it first came out and was completely in stitches. Then I saw it opening weekend with some friends and didn't laugh nearly as much. I'm sure if I watched now, I'd think, "Oh, that's cute." Sasha Baron Cohen's comedy really only works once, for shock value.
Guest drahtuos
wanna see this real bad, loved borat. it's not playing in any of the close by theaters though..
mediocore
Just saw it. It's not as consistently funny as Borat, but it has waaaaaay more shock value. Most of the interviews and shit were shorter this time around, so the laughs were kind of broken up at times. Still funny in its own right, but, like Scott mentioned, it'll be best the first time you see it.
tim
After seeing it, I am again totally amazed by what this guy is willing to go through for the sake of his comedy. He is fearless.
