monk0nuggets
I had a short shift at work today and needed something to do for the afternoon before Body Worlds so I thought I'd surprise my girlfriend by making some soup from scratch. I'm a terrible cook and rarely even try to make anything so this will be a HUGE surprise to her. I'm trying to make potato leek soup. Half way done right now and so far so good. My question is, what is your favorite soup? Mine is homemade broccoli, ham and cheese soup! Amazing combo of flavors!
devinr
beer cheese is my favorite but I've never attempted to make it from scratch.
coldsnap
i made some carrot potage this week, and put some potatoes instead of rice. i love it. but this time i let the potage rest to get cooler, last time i put it directly in the blender, it fucking splashed everywhere, good thing i didn't burn myself with it. tanukichu
I make a mean vegetarian french onion soup. So that and I love tomato soup with a toasted cheese sandwich. And vegetarian chicken noodle. And miso. And hot and sour. I am a soup fiend.
monk0nuggets
mmmmm......Just thinking about all these soups has me stoked about my soup! I hope it turns out alright. I kind of wish I was making french onion soup now. haha
tanukichu
Well you can do that next time haha! Potato leek soup sounds yummy. And honestly I think you'll be ok. Soup really isn't too hard to fuck up in my experiences and in the very least I'm sure she'll love the gesture.

sgoodcore
Baked potato is some good stuff even if I can't toss in the bacon.
monk0nuggets
I thought about adding bacon to my soup. Maybe I will.

kyle
Albondigas! The BEST soup there is, as long as it's made right. It's really easy to fuck it up.

kyle
What the hell is that? Albondigas is Spanish for meatballs. It's an absolutely DELICIOUS Mexican soup. Everything needs to be homemade, from the base (broth/tomato base) to the meatballs, no frozen junk. If you find a good recipe it's amazing. I've gotten it down to where I can make a really good batch of albondigas but it doesn't come close to some of the REALLY good ones.
motorbike
i had some of my my gf's stepmom's homade mexican tortilla chicken soup last night. i think i could have eaten the whole pot and not gotten full, very tasty to say the least. will be attempting my own when it gets colder along with making chili constantly. rtw88
Probably zuppa tuscana at Olive Garden. That shit is good. I also like Split Pea soup with ham.
monk0nuggets
Also, I think I may have put too many potatoes in my soup. My potato to broth ratio seems to be off, though not according to the recipe.
