bruiser873
Thoughts? There are only few people I enjoy buying records with. Sometimes, I'll shop alone. Some think asking someone to go record shopping with you is one of the biggest honors you can bestow on a person. I don't enjoy buying records with the wife, she's always in a hurry. Let me know what you all prefer...............

One Hundred Fifty-Two
Anyone that isn't interested will just get antsy and want to leave making you feel rushed and once you leave you think you missed something.

deafmx
ugh, gotta do it alone unless the other person is a diehard or VERY patient. i'm usually in a record store for over an hour if i think there's something in the whole place i'm missing. chiefwahoo
My girlfriend took me to a record store in Akron last week because that's where she goes to school. She was very excited to take me there but was obviously bored out of her mind while I looked through every single record they had. Not sure what she expected. The best is record shopping with my dad. We'd always hit up the local Goodwill stores when I was a kid. They had thousands of records back then, so it took two people to get through them all in a timely fashion. Now we go to Jerry's Records a couple times a year and spend several hours there. We also hit up local book sales (there's always records) and the occasional craigslist seller. I love it. shanehennessey
I can only shop with my dad because he actually enjoys it. All of my friends just stand behind me and breath down my neck after they take 5 minutes to flip through records.

Just Another Tom
Alone most of the time. I don't mind shopping with people but i always feel guilty an hour or so in when i'm still looking and they are close to tears, saying that i do tend to drag the occasional person around with me. There are only really two people i hang out with on a regular basis who are also into vinyl, its always fun to go shopping with them - but it can't lead to confrontation...nothing like your best pal picking up the find of day when it should of been you! Haha.
bruiser873
It's pretty cordial with my one friend, if either of us come across a good find, we hold it up and the other usually does the "Nice, wish I'd seen that" but a few days later we try and trade........... rockstar71888
Depends on who it is. Certain friends are not interested and will rush you along, others will look around and try to convince you to buy certain albums that they know you like. sharkticon
Definitely alone. Or with my Dad. It's a tradition and habit he instilled in me, no matter how much I whined as a kid. None of my friends buy/listen to records nor share my listening habits so I guess it works out?
headtowall
i usually like going alone, or with my girlfriend. but she likes to yell at me if i try to buy too many records.
islington
Alone or with my brother. He's the only other person that enjoys spending hours flipping through bins of records. All my other friends go "you still BUY music?"
fixedfrequencies
now that i think about it, i like going alone rather than with someone else. haha. i take my time when looking through and buying records and usually my friends can't wait around that long. but my IMAGINARY friends, yeah, they don't mind. phantommaggot
If you go with a friend you run the risk of them finding something awesome first.
enjoyadrian
there aren't any record stores around here, so usually when my girlfriend and i go to austin, she has to accompany me. I feel bad because I spend at least and hour or two looking through the store, and i can tell she's bored. I feel worse because I usually hit up 4 or 5 shops. But she says it's okay since we rarely get to go and understands it's my only chance to look. This is what makes her a great girlfriend.
