jhulud
Ok...here's the deal...I have never really been into Converge. To be fair though, I have not listened to much of their music to begin with. So, which album of theirs would any of you guys who are fans recommend that I listen to first to get "exposed" to? I'm all over the place when it comes to music taste. Fire away!

jhulud
I was figuring that Jane Doe would be the one to check out first from random comments some of you guys have made about it. But I wanted to put the question out there for recommendations.
robotnerd
jane doe is a good place to start. there's a lot of different ways you can approach the converge catalog. however my two faves are jane doe and no heroes.
ronniethebear
I think mine are Jane Doe and You Fail Me.
jacobe
My favorite is Unloved, but to someone new to the band I'd go with Jane Doe and work around that.
riddle350
I'd say Jane Doe.

mattisr1984
stylistically, theyre all a little bit different. it may not seem that way at first but when you really dive into the records and give them extensive listens, youll see some pretty significant differences. none of their albums are not good. oakland
Jane Doe is, without a doubt, the record that made people really go "Holy Shit!" about Converge. There were plenty of people doing the kind of thing Converge was doing early on (Deadguy, Today is the day to name two big ones), but when Jane Doe came out it was a big step away from any of those contemporaries. Plus everyone liked it. I'd go to the record store and hear it. I'd meet kids on the street listening to it. It's just an incredible record. Start there. And don't even bother with Petitioning... and Forever comes... . Just get the re-issues. The remastering, etc. on those ads an awful lot. Personally I think my favorite is "You Fail Me," although I would have put the songs in a different order. But that's just me.
xlovecolouredx
if you wanna hear their finest record (and might be ever),select Jane Doe. last track 'Jane Doe' is slightly catchy by chorus "i wantttttttt outttttt" but i like the concept of You Fail Me and No Heroes very much.... stevenontheradio
You Fail Me is my favourite hands down. Eagles Become Vultures just punches you in the face and leaves you asking for another.
riddle350
No Heroes is the easiest to listen to for me but I still think Jane Doe is better overall.
monk0nuggets
You Fail Me is the record that eased me in. But Jane Doe is my favorite. I'd say check out either of those two.
