jhulud
Oh I get the idea. It could work. But I'm still trying to picture it going w/ the cover. Maybe that green as a splatter on white or even clear...hmmmmm?
circlingvultures
do a limited mail order version where the record is wrapped in a bloody wifebeater? the more the record resembles a decaying body, the more im gonna want to buy it. xgrantx
I actually like that idea as cheesy as it may be........how much do wifebeaters cost? I could do a ultralimited of 20 with a blood stained wifebeater stretched around the cover.....ha
jhulud
I'm sure pretty cheap if you go to a flea market or a place like that.

jhulud
I've been known to do strange shit... Here's a better idea though. Instead of a bloody wife-beater, a vellum-style cover covered in blood to wrap around the jacket. Maybe like an autopsy file. Mailorder exclusive or super-duper secret double probation exclusive... Kinda like the Slayer "Psychopathy" 7" cover/sleeve.

xgrantx
The wifebeater might actually be cheaper than the vellum.....I like that idea too.
jhulud
It doesn't even have to be vellum...could be just a thicker cardstock. And hand-splatter it so each one is unique. Get fake blood for a Halloween/costume store.
circlingvultures
cheaper yeah but youd have to wrap up the record everytime you were done listening to it and then it would be all lumpy sitting in your pile of records. the vellum always looks nice, it doesnt add much size to the lp and theres a million ways you could go with it. jhulud
I see what you're saying...the vellum would be better...it can just be "blood"-splattered and stamped on a corner w/ the Bitter Melody records logo...and hand-numbered of course. And to not be too too expensive, make it a limited run like 25 or less. Vellum paper can get pricey. Especially when you have to cut it to size and possibly be left w/ unuseable pieces. What comes to mind...to me...is the Ink & Dagger "Love Is Dead" 7" blood-splattered cover. Robby Redcheeks took printed acetates and used them as covers. He then stapled his arms 13 times and splattered the covers with his blood. I shit you not! This is my copy I got from him: Kinda gruesome...I know... xgrantx
http://www.paperandmore.com/vellum_paper_12x12_white_29.html I found this....pretty cheap...it would just slide in the plastic sleeve in front of the art...not a wrap... I don't see 12x24 vellum anywhere
Just Another Tom
Clear with white/green/black splatter.

ohiopride
since the cover features a decomposing corpse, maybe a flesh-tone w/like an olive green and dark red/burgundy swirl or splat. the green would be the rot and the burgundy would be dried blood. cactusbot
Do a Tri-Color record - white with red splatter/clear green with black haze/puke marble limited to 1. And sell that one to Kurtz.

willbratt
Splatter is ugly 90% of the time. If you want it to have that "bloody" look, do what EVR did on Give Blood or the label that did the first Comeback Kid LP:
