Snaggle Von Swift
I heard of a whopping 1 band on the 2nd disc. I would never be in the mood to listen to the 1st straight through. There's a decent amount I like, but a decent amount I don't.
exitenglish1208
haha yeah they put all the good stuff on disc 1 definitely... interesting choice in the rock show for a blink song, i guess it references the warped tour. they picked one of set your goals' worst songs, in my opinion. closure in moscow belongs on the second disc though
rockstar71888
i remember the days where i could listen to these comps and say "who is this? this is good..." about 9 years ago

One Hundred Fifty-Two
These comps shaped what i listened to in high school and many of my favorite bands to this day I discovered through them. As for this year DISC #1 Blink 182- The Rock Show Alkaline Trio- The American Scream Dropkick Murphy’s- Captain Kelly’s Kitchen (LIVE) The Bouncing Souls- Never Say Die/ When You’re Young Anti-Flag- We Are The One Every Time I Die- After One Quarter of a Revolution Set Your Goals- Gaia Bleeds (Make Way For Man) The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band- Clap Your Hands Riverboat Gamblers- Robot’s May Break Your Heart Closure In Moscow- A Night At The Spleen Deal’s Gone Bad- Messin’ Around Fake Problems- Heartless The Flatliners- Carry The Banner The Swellers- Sleeper Polar Bear Club- Living Saints Cobra Skulls- Thicker Than Water Broadway Calls- Basement Royalty The Menzingers- No We Didn’t Flatfoot 56- Smoke Blower DISC #2 Four Year Strong- Tonight We Feel Alive (On A Saturday) This Time Next Year- No Bed Of Broken Glass Although with the rise of information on the internet I don't have to rely on comps to find bands. I have most of those full lengths already downloaded.
evvandflow
the old school comps were really good as everyone else said. and at least theyre smart enough to put all the shit bands on one cd
MattyIceyo
Punk Bites, Ska Sucks, Punk Sucks, Hopelessly Devoted (vol 1 and 2), Punk o Rama (early ones), Punk Uprisings vol 1. Early Fat comps..I guess being kinda old I appreciate these old comps so much. THOSE are what shaped my more formative years, granted they dont do AS much for me nowadays (as those bands are just about 40 year olds almost). I miss discovering new bands on comps, going EVERYWHERE to find the cd or having to MAILORDER it...I never get the feeling of hearing a new band on a whim anymore, or reading a bands thank you list...oh well.. /rant sorry. adamlikesmusic
I never got why they put bands like Blink 182, who aren't even playing the tour, on these things. Unless they're making surprise appearances? At $5, I imagine they already sell tons of them, I can't imagine needing something like a Blink 182 song on it to make it a success. Guest
The first band some teeny bopper sees is Blink-182, so shes all over it. Sold. The next bands down the tracklisting that she may end up listening to are all, for the most part, excellent stepping stones for getting into better music, in my eyes. This is actually a very well put together compilation in that aspect.

suburbanargyle
The 2001 Warped compilation was really awesome. I also discovered bands from Fat and Punk-O-Rama comps. Plus they always had unreleased or live songs on them. My first one was Punk-O-Rama 3 (1997 I think), and that's really what got me out of grunge and into punk. immigrationproblem
Glass War was the first song I listened to from NOFX and remains the only song of theirs I listen to. Heard it on a Warped Tour comp

suburbanargyle
but this year is the worst year so far for this tour. booo Really? I agree there is a ton of horseshit, but this is the first year since like 2003 that I've actually considered going. Still not gonna happen, but it did cross my mind. mariawithoneeye
yeah last year was pretty bad but the years before were pretty darn good. the bands that are saving this tour for me are Alkaline Trio, Set Your Goals, Face to Face, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Deas Vail. I agree there is a ton of horseshit, but this is the first year since like 2003 that I've actually considered going. Still not gonna happen, but it did cross my mind. I'm seriously debating going. Pennywise, Alk3, RBF, Andrew WK, and Streetlight are enough justification for me. It's not like you have to watch all the horseshit. There's plenty of other things to do there. I hate to sound like an old guy but I just can't stomach the idea of standing in a parking lot in the Texas heat with thousands of Warped-style kids. So I can't imagine ever going to another one, no matter who is playing. Let the kids have their fun, I guess.
