lonesomexloveus
50 test presses?
lonesomexloveus
and correct me if i'm wrong, but if you just want a copy of the record (not a test press), you have to pledge $100?
donlombardo
Guess you can buy it when it comes out.
steviex2shoes
50 test presses? Blame United Pressing for the mass amounts of Test Presses. Right on their site they offer free test presses for $50 pledges for kickstarter.
jailhouse
What is up with this trend is selling overpriced mass produced "test presses"? If anyone is an Ashers, Scarred, or Defiance fan, 40 bucks will get you an /20 test press of any of those albums. I only have the labels and lacquers done now, so I guess... pre-order for test presses! If anyone is actually guilable enough to buy a test press, I will seriously sell you one for 40 bucks. Must know in advance so I can get multiple test presses besides the usual 9, which go to band, freebies, and me.
mattisr1984
i like this band but this is dumb. test presses werent ever intended to be used in this sort of fashion. same for some of the other labels on this board that do this.
catalinacaper
So in other words $50 for a /50 variant on black vinyl with standard united labels on them, or $100 for /? copy on colored vinyl with an album specific label. Might as well call it what it is. It stops being a "test pressing" when it is distributed openly.
AlexH.
One of the laziest kickstarters i've seen, in terms of both the goal and the rewards. Music is theoretically these people's passion, yet between the four of them they can't scrape together $2500 (in seven years!) to make a new album? $20 gets you a digital download of a live set from 2007. LOLOL. Fuck these people.
gravitylovesdrunks
>5-10 copies = not a test press but a cash grab. test pressings used to have an actual specific function. you heard a few copies of the record to ensure the quality of the pressing before giving the go-ahead for mass production. that concepts seems to be entirely lost now. sharkie
they already met their goal.
euphoria
ordered a test pressing. considering that it includes shipping is not that bad
thesupervillain
3 people pledged 250 bucks or more? Jesus, people love this band.
eatshit
Considering their last album on the most common color which is out of 1575 goes for $70-$80, a /50 copy for $50 is nothing.
icecream
eh not only that but i'd rather the band see profit from the tests anyway. altough 50 test presses is fucking absurd

donlombardo
83 Backers $6,120 pledged of $2,500 goal 27 days to go Absurd. They sure got some money for their pockets too.
euphoria
We've launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the last few dollars we need to finish up in the studio. Anything above our goal will go towards the wicked LP packaging you know we want to do.Thanks to your comments, I think we've come up with some great rewards for you guys, and I hope you know how much you mean to us. Please tell eve...ryone about it. Thank you! Kathleen/CTTS according to the band, the extra money will be used for the package of the album
