astrangerwithcandy
So is the single vinyl still white or do you have to order all that other stuff too?

astrangerwithcandy
its white Why thank you sir, ordered. This band keeps getting better and better.
mcpherson123
Haha. I actually feel that they've been degrading since after Censored Colors. First three albums are amazing and then SS, AG, and this new stuff... A steady decline in my eyes.
icecream
i thought cc was weak and boring it did have some good tracks though. imo santanic satanist and american ghetto were both great albums, american ghetto was almost kind of a return to their roots seeing how it was john who first started ptm. mcpherson123
I don't feel that there are any legitimate links between AG and Waiter. Waiter has a much more unique sense of melody and composition and it really made P.TM stand out in the crowd but AG felt like they were succumbing more to conventional song structures and doing it in a boring way. I can see from one angle how CC could seem boring but I find it exciting in the sense that it is unique in the current general popular musical climate. batman
I love Censored Colors. Satanic Satanist translates beautifully live--I didn't appreciate it as much at first. American Ghetto seems the same. I really dig the stuff I've heard from the new album.
mcpherson123
I do feel that most of the SS songs are more enjoyable live but as albums, AG and SS are overall pretty weak in comparison to their other releases.
yarostino
i somehow dont count AG as a full album, it feels more like ICBAW to me. as for the other records... i love them all! but then again im probably a huge PTM-fanboy
astrangerwithcandy
I agree with what you said about Waiter but I feel like they really were kind of feeling things out and some of the songs seemed odd. Church Mouth was heavy on the Led Zeppelin vibe and I feel like they were listening to way too much Pink Floyd when they wrote Censored Colors. In my opinion they really didn't start to get their sound down until SS. American Ghetto is excellent.
mcpherson123
I tend to like music better when it seems like they are just feeling it out. Once bands start to "hone" their songwriting it gets standard, Pop, and boring to me. They eventually learn how to compose the same way everyone else does. I prefer the variation and oddity of Waiter. Church Mouth and Censored Colors had a bit of the standard composition thing going on but the material was strong enough to eclipse that and they wound up being awesome records. There are good songs on both SS and AG but some just suck.

mcpherson123
They only had a couple songs pre-Waiter, right?
Guest
They only had a couple songs pre-Waiter, right? They had a ton of demos.
struckanerve
ill add my two cents and back the crowd who isn't feeling american ghetto. a lot of it is just not all that interesting. love the first three and i like SS, but it gets played out fast. plasma36
I'm with the crowd that only cares about It's Complicated Being A Wizard. I'll listen to their other material but ICBAW is just perfect.

thewmatic
never dug ICBAW or Church Mouth that much. Loved last couple albums and Waiter. Censored Colors is a mixed bag.
