dynamitekid
Call me late to the party but I'm listening to "Start Today" right now and I never realized how many similarities there are between the two bands songs i.e. parts lifted from GB songs and put into KD songs. kriss
I don't know much about KD but I know that Start Today is one of the best HC records ever recorded - this makes me want to go track down some KD. Any album I should start with?
dynamitekid
The self titled.
kyacrash
I love both bands, but never really noticed any similarities. I may be overlooking them though...
dynamitekid
It's hard to notice. it's more like similar breakdowns, guitar techniques, that sort of thing. There was one part in "Stand Still" where KD borrows a lyrics from them in Give 'em the ripped one
timwt
I don't really see anything that similar besides both being hardcore bands, but I love Kid Dynamite and Gorilla Biscuits is my favorite hardcore of all time.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I saw GB on their reunion tour they did years ago, it was life-altering. may have been the best hardcore show I ever went to. and it was in cleveland. so fucking good
daver2980
all those bands that came from members of lifetime are great - namely kid dynamite and paint it black - as for kid dynamite i like shorter, faster, louder a tad better than self titled - def the one band i would have loved to see live - they usually do a benefit in philly for random charities every few years, hopefully i can catch one of them also love gb as well but never really noticed too many similarites and kriss - i'm somewhat surprised you never listened to them, i always thought you were like the great purveyor of everything hXc - if you haven't listened to paint it black(dan yemin who plays guitar for lifetime/kd is the vocalist) either, do it - 'cva' is sooo good

I swear when I caught them at the Stone Pony on that tour that his voice must have been destroyed because it seemed like he didn't want to or couldn't sing. Give me Dischord, SST, Revelation or Dangerhouse and I'm your guy, but anything besides that and I'm useless. hahah. By the way, welcome to the boards man. Good to see another Decap patron around here!

timwt
Civ was great when I saw them on the 06 tour in Worcester and this year at the black and blue bowl. 06 show had a barricade, but I did nothing but dive at the NY show.
