jhulud
Curious question...may have been already asked or mentioned in a previous thread...so if it's a repeat, I humbly apologize. What is the most that you have personally paid for a record and what was it? Feel free to share your stories on this...if you want.
skumbucket
$75 or so in the last month for alkaline trio's "maybe i'll catch fire." and i'd do it again.

ronniethebear
105.00 for Slowdive - Souvlaki Jesus christ. Was it worth it? For me, it was $60 for Botch - We Are The Romans.
jacobe
A little over $100 for a second copy of the original pressing of Lucero's "Attic Tapes".

amsterdamned
64 bucks for Death By Stereo-Fooled By Your Smile, Black/White split vinyl, hand-numbered 89/100. One of my favorite bands, so it was definitely worth it.
coldober
$100 for siege lp(deep six records) test press signed by singer and drummer. about 7 months ago i noticed someone selling a siege test press on ebay. looked into the seller a little and found it was a family member of kevin's(singer) so since it was a buy it now I DID JUST THAT. right after i bought it i asked if the seller was related to kevin and they said yes that it was his wife... i asked her if she could ask kevin if he had any old siege shit to sell...she told me he had said he doesnt have anything left but his own personal items. so i just asked if there was anyway he could just sign the dust sleeve(since its a test press it has no cover). so a few days later she writes and says it should be here any day..blah blah blah and that i am lucky because robert(drummer) was there the night before and he signed it as well. i am stoked and i feel the $100.00 was beyond well spend. siege=influenced more grindcore/hardcore/power violence/death metal/blah blah blah bands than we will ever know! classic and way beyond its time. i cant believe the band is from 1983. also..... i doubt it but if anyone has the original 7" i will kill someone for you for it. just name the person and its done! word! I have an emergency sluch fund set up with about $225 in it so far for when I get a shot at a Texas is the Reason LP on white.......
adambomb
most I dropped was 200 for a KYI box set test press with limited acetate cover /4 . Considering they are my favorite band ever and that release flat out rules I don't regret it one bit. Better yet, the money went to charity. I know I'll end up dropping decent change to fill the few holes in my KYI collection
Guest falloutcollapse
i haven't spent more than about 20 bucks on a single release yet. but i am willing to drop a ton of money on circa survive-juturna someday
destroyingthescene
$200 for Bad Religion's Into The Unknown that was still in shrinkwrap. I spent $130 on my AFI box set, but when you divide the price with the records, it isn't too bad

monk0nuggets
$120 for a Modern Life Is War "Witness" record release hand made cover version. Don't regret it at all. It was the drummer's copy.
hickey
I'm actually in the process of paying the most I've paid for one record. Once (or if) the transaction is complete I'll share the details.
jhulud
Since I started the thread I may as well share mine...it has been two: Heather Nova's "These Walls" ep - $200. What made it unique is that she self-released the record with her real first name, Frith, before changing it to Nova. No accurate pressing info but rumored to be less than 300. Coheed & Cambria IKSSE:3 2x12" grey and blue - $40ppd for it...not much compared to some here but hey... Just like hickey, I have a couple more on the works that will surely prove to be pricey...once in hand, I will share...maybe...
