apirk
I found a record I've been looking for for awhile and the upper left corner is clipped. Just kind of curious what this mean, radio copy? promo? It is not a cheap record at all so I was also wondering if it has a big negative possible effect on its value. dethrock
There was a thread on this like a month ago. I know the search feature sucks, but you might be able to find it.
moonbeams
Value? If you just like the music, why should it matter? If you care about the art (like me), then it matters.
patron
It's a promo. It doesn't affect the record at all. Enjoy it.
chiefwahoo
A clipped corner is a major flaw and should result in a significantly lower price than a unmarred sleeve. I'd say a minimum of 25% less than the going rate. However, many people don't grade records properly on the internet so don't be surprised if they're ignorant about the subject. If anyone tries to tell you it should be worth just as much because it signifies it's a promo, etc. then avoid them at all costs because they're an idiot. xjustinxschwierx
its either a promo or a cut out copy, which means it didn't sell so they clipped mass quantities of them, then wrote them off as a loss and then sold them to discount warehouses for pennies on the pound. apirk
Thanks for the info I asked about the value because it was $30 cheaper then I've seen it before and was wondering if that was what caused such a lower price, I guess that is why. This. I can't count how many times I've found records with the clipped corner for fractions of the price - honestly, it doesn't bother me all that much so I'm stoked any time I find one.
