Kevin is such a good dude, super nice and friendly, and they put on such a fun show. They actually keep a bucket on stage nowadays wherever they tour as him barfing is not a really uncommon thing to occur, LOL. They actually stayed at my buddy's house in santa cruz when they rolled through town and I got to hang out with them and they are really good people. I especially can't wait for their new album to drop! On a more OP related note, I'm really enjoying everyone's shows, great job all around. I started making one that had like 5 "The ...." bands so I just decided to make an episode of all bands like that. The Bronx, The Giraffes, etc. I also made a "Walking Dead" themed one, all music that reminds me of the Walking Dead. We get a few hundred plays every month so nobody is really 'pissing in the wind.' I can usually tell who is sharing their episodes via social networks and what not because the RSS based feed numbers spike. I could get some promo spots on uber popular podcasts like The Mediocre Show and Keith And The Girl but it's definitely not cheap and since this is pretty DIY I'd hope everyone involved can pitch in a little "Hey check this out friends!" It's ostensible purpose is music discovery but since the forum has members with varied tastes it doesn't actually serve that function really well. I'd imagine some people really like some shows and really dislike others, so repeat traffic is going to be harder to come by. I think you're right, promo spots are a bit of a waste unless you're going to develop a more structured and cohesive format. Until then, just seems like more of an amusement for anyone who wants to participate. Seeing that this section of the forum doesn't even get much traffic, interest doesn't seem super high.
