Especially the Bay Area and LA. You can't go wrong with all the Amoeba locations. There's various awesome smaller shops in the bay as well. Aquarius Records being one of my favorites. I've never been to NYC, but I would imagine that the dense population and influx of youth would result in a plethora of record shops. Let's call this an urban walking city, where vehicle transportation is not needed for daily life. What are other urban walking cities in the US? Boston? (I've never been there). Chicago? LA?
