PO: Say Anything - In Defense Of The Genre

Recommended Posts

you know why this album is so amazing and we at SRC can't wait to have it on vinyl is because there are so many guests on this album its not even funny. Makes it such a unique album! I was told some serious lacquers were cut to make this sound top notch =) Should have more info next week!

"The album features 23 individual guest vocalists and musicians, including Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, Pete Yorn, Anna Waronker, Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday, Aaron Gillespie of Underoath and The Almost, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, and Hayley Williams of Paramore. Additional instrumentation was handled by DJ Swamp and Casey Prestwood, whom contributed on turntable and pedal steel guitar, respectively."

And the absolute best guest vocals on this: Chris Conley.

I really hope they keep it simple. A standard double lp will be fine if possible.

27 songs on a 2xLP? No thanks. I want them to go all out on this. One of my all-time favorite albums. I'd be happy with a neatly and artistically packaged 4xLP. Two LPs per original disc. I'd be fine paying $50 or $60 for this if its well done.

Yeah a 2xlp would sound awesome, needs to be atleast 3 lps but I'd def prefer 4

Even though the album has a LOT of songs, the album is actually somewhere between 80-90 minutes long. If it was a 4XLP each side would be just over 10 minutes. It is definitely not a 4XLP. They did it at a double with each side around 20 minutes (Some a bit longer, some just under 20 minutes). We will have test pressings soon and if it compromises the sound quality we will definitely talk to the label. If this was a 4XLP or even a 3XLP with major label licensing it would unfortunately be way over $50 for a 4XLP.
