themightychew
But it is out of stock, i ordered last week and it didn't go through The note on RT says "NOT CURRENTLY IN STOCK - SHOULD DISPATCH WITHIN 7 WORKING DAYS". I got a bootleg copy from them last week and while it was in the post I found out the genuine was pre-ordering. I sold the bootleg without even listening to it. Sh_tluck
I'm confused as to why Rough Trade would sell a bootleg version, being a pretty big label and all, AND an official? can someone explain this to me? this isn't common is it? birdturbo
The real copy still doesn't even have a release date. I ended up canceling my Amazon pre-order because I'm having big doubts that it's ever going to come out.
Thom Yorkified
Don't really care anymore. The cd sounds good anyways
themightychew
Did you get $3000 for it? Eh? Nope, £25, why do you ask? Is that what someone's paid?! Wow, they're sure going to feel daft when it gets released officially :/

I think it may just depend on the buyer (the store's stock buyer) about what they want to stock from all their distributors - they might just take a few and slip them into the stock, unknown to the higher level management (maybe?). In the indie store I worked in we used to get offered bootleg CDs all the time as 'Japanese imports' or some such guff. My boss didn't really catch on that they were unofficial until I told him, he just liked that they were cheap! HMV also used to stock countless bootleg mash-up 12"s in their stores and blatantly illegal 'white labels' of 4 classic house or hip hop tracks on one disc. Everyone likes to dance around the law a bit; edgy innit ;0) But in this case I agree it does seem a bit odd when you do a search for channel ORANGE in the RT store that you get illegal and official next to each other. Guest
and the same seller already has another one up for bid. unless that was immediately bullshit bidding.
colt3ninja
i'm just hoping that with this bootleg floating around the label gets their shit together and presses thing thing officially asap.
nyhi
https://touch.ebay.com/tablet/item?itemId=170936997560 That 3k never happened, relisted.
themightychew
Quite a few completed listings for $19.99, then some current listings with bids up to $45 and a BIN on the relisted 3k for £69.99 - does this qualify for entry into the eBay craziness thread ? Some people losing their shit over this *bootleg*, lol.

agaetisbyrjun
No clue how legit this is, but I wouldn't be surprised: 30,000+ copies of Channel Orange have been sold on vinyl, all bootlegs, because Universal only pressed CDs. D'oh. @TheStoolPigeon
3arl
I highly doubt that there are 30K bootlegs of this
