Tool to release a limited edition 21st anniversary release of Opiate

Recommended Posts

Although Tool will not be releasing an album in 2013 — they will be celebrating a nice little career milestone on March 26th: the 21st anniversary of their 1992 debut EP, Opiate.

To mark the occasion, the Los Angeles rock band will issue 5,000 limited edition copies of the six-song release. Sold in 5 x 1000 runs, each set will feature a variation of graphics and bonuses, such as a new stereoscopic image to be used with the glasses from the band’s 10,000 Days packaging.

The limited edition Opiate EP bundles include art direction by Adam Jones, illustrations by Adi Granov, and design packaging by Mackie Osborne, who has previously worked on Tool’s LateralusSalival, as well as band posters and other merchandise.

The packages can be pre-ordered through Tool’s official website beginning March 26th.
