I will make an addition to my post above by saying I do not collect test presses. As much as I love collecting records, I just don't get it. To me it would be like collecting advance cd promos. Just doesn't make sense to me. That being said, I still ended up with a couple.

if i can get a test for a good price i'll grab it, only if it's for a band i really like too. otherwise i couldn't care less. i just think it's cool to have something that only 5-10 other people have.

i definitely wouldn't pay $100+ for a test though (unless it was cursed, dmst or, maybe, mtb, and all those are really pushing it).

yay my first post!! (i have been hanging out for a while though)

I collect groovie ghoulies (trying to get all variants of all releases and splits) and there is a whole lot more to these guys than i thought... I only need a few more pieces to be complete anyone know where I can get the heart shaped wedding invitation?

I also am trying to get all of The Donnas LPs and splits and eventually Coheed and Cambria (one of each)

yeah hey, i'm a long time lurker, first time poster...

this is such a great board, i'm glad of it's existence & shit.

i used to be h.c. about sonic youth (et.al.) lp's but that became overwhelming, so now i just go for what's new out there.

i have an almost complete collection of dinosaur jr lp's, i'm feeling semi-retired from collecting for that band these days.

i decided to collect all things QOTSA when they first came out, which i did, up until this newest lp, i have not bothered with any 7"s because pink & green give me a headache.

i am going to start looking for all things Steel Pole Bath Tub that i don't already have (mostly 7"s & 10"s on Man's Ruin).

so lately i'm jazzed up about collecting every title release on the old 60's label Command Records, it's all lounge/hi-fi/jet set swinger tunes with amazing artwork that you can recognize on any of their releases instantly.

So yeah, that's me in a nutshell.

Sparta: not too hard since they isn't too many vinyl releases by them, and thanks to this site Threes was easy to get hehe

Green Day: a LOT of variants, i think im going to try to get one of everything first. but the warning singles arent too expensive so i can knock that album out and then branch to the more expensive stuff.

Smashing Pumpkins: this is going to be a bitch.

Ryan Adams: dont think it will be too tough.

and i will probably pick up my favorite albums from certain bands if i can find them.

and let me say, it is awesome to see so many jawbreaker fans!
