I only use my iPhone to take pics, but I can never get good shots of splatters/streaks/haze/marble unless I pretend to be playing it. I only come in here every few weeks so I catch up on a couple of pages at a time. But fuck that shit If there's enough available light, a camera used in auto could have a fast enough shutter speed to freeze motion. Flash will do the same. Ideally, you want to show the movement of the record otherwise it just looks like a record sitting on a turntable. Unless that's what you're going for.
